Great Opportunity to Scout Two Opponents

Just wondering if anyone else is going to watch the Pittsburgh/Cincinnati game tonight on ESPN. Two of our future opponents on the same field matching up against one another.

It should be a great opportunity to look for each team's potential weaknesses as well as what they could have success with when facing the Hokies in the coming weeks.

Feel free to leave your feedback on the game in the comments on this post, if you plan on watching.

I'm watching it

Looking to see how Pitt bounces back after Saturday.

And So far

Not looking too positive. Where were the safeties on that run?

Logan 3:16

They bounced

like a bowling ball on a memory foam mattress.

I'm trying to decide if cincy is good or Pitt is that bad. so far Pitts d looks horrible. I haven't heard anything abt cincy this year

tyrod did it mikey! tyrod did it!

Rushel shell is the only bright spot us far, and he totally whiffed on two pass blocks. Pitt's o-line is getting dominated by Cincy's average d-line.

I think that Pitt looks very, very bad, Cincinnati could compete for the Big East championship and Munchie Legaux is an awesome name.

We should beat both of them

Especially Pitt, who is playing like shit. Great opportunity for the offense and the special teams to hit their stride. The defense only needs to keep doing what they're doing, and defend the pass.

Rick Monday... You Made a Great Play...

Some notes thus far

Cincinnati: Utilize a lot of short routes in the passing game, RB Abernathy looks similar to David Wilson as far as running style, and the way they use him out in space.

Pitt: Sunseri has one hell of an arm but is extremely inaccurate, however they hardly ever throw (no need to with Ray Graham and Shell); as previously stated Cincy is dominating Pitt's O-Line (I assumed that Cincy's front 7 was average as you guys affirmed, so ours should do even more damage)

Helluva play

Sunseri with that shovel pass from almost parallel with the ground.

Da-nuh-nuh! Da-nuh-nuh! Would be totally surprised if that isn't your top play from today.

Looked Tyrod-esque

Tyrod

That was my thought. Like his run from the Boise game in 2010.

As seen at 0:51 mark in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkPiReGc25Q

That's a really good video btw.

Exactly the one I was thinking of haha

Why is Pitt coming to the ACC?

I can't believe we will have to watch more games like this. Someone wake me from my bourbon coma in the East stands of Lane Stadium when September ends.

@TheTurkeyTavern

Perception of ACC...

Just so that ESPN can make further mockery of us. Pitt's loss to Youngstown did us NO favors... And Syracuse? They're just as bad. Now, if they upset USC this weekend, that's a different story... But yeah, they're bad.

Minus the bourbon part...

...was that a Green Day reference? I feel like it was.

Your Profile Picture...

Did you make that sign? If you did, kudos on that, saw it on GameDay a few years back.

As horrible as Pitt looked on their first couple of drives, they were able to move the ball right to the goal line twice, but instead they shot themselves in the foot. I think Tech will be able to move the ball without a problem on both of these teams.

I concur.

Just hope that if playcalling is working one way (most likely the ground-and-pound against both of these teams with some quick-hitters and home-run threats by LT3) that we don't go abruptly in the other direction...

Pitt looks like a team with everyone on the right page. They are clicking like the best team in the nation.

Scheduling Changes?

Is it too late to take Pitt off the schedule and face that powerhouse from Youngstown?

Virginia Tech mentioned

They just mentioned us going 0-2 to start 2010 and rattling off 11 straight... It still hurts to hear about those first two though.

VT Car commercial too

We truly do own Thursday nights...

Thursday Nights

Can't wait until we own the ones upcoming...

It's a cult following...

Pitt

Anyone see them making a comeback in this game? They've got time, right?

Nevermind.

Silly me for thinking they could do anything in this game.

Munchie Legeaux

Likes heaving up the jump ball for his receivers. Hopefully our corners can contend with that when we play them at FedEx... And *knock on wood* hopefully our secondary is still 100% healthy at that point.

Wow, I wish I had bought Pitt tickets instead of Cincy tickets.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

Did anyone notice

the VA Tech Hyundai commercial right after halftime? Just another reminder that we're going to own both these teams!

After seeing both these, Pitt is fresh meat and Cincy will be dead in the water against our D. Warm up the second team.

Commercial

Yeah, I love that commercial. And I believe someone mentioned it above.

Also, I agree that we could embarass the heck out of these two teams.

The only way that commercial would be better was if they played "Enter Sandman" instead of "Sandstorm." Unless they've updated the commercial since last season...

Best duos in Hokie history: Hall & Adibi, 3rd & Tyrod, Georgia & Liz

Can honestly say

I didn't notice.
