2013 VT Club Baseball Golf Tournament

Hey guys,

Don't want to bore you too much with something you don't care about but I wanted to post about the VT Club Baseball Golf Tournament this year. I'm an alumni of the program and just wanted to see if any of you guys would be interested in playing. The school gives a certain sum of money to the program (can't remember how much but its not much) and the rest (umpires, fields, rental vans, uniforms, equipment, etc.) all comes from the players so this is the main way for the team to raise money.

They always schedule the tournament the Sunday after a football game, this year is the Eat Shit Pitt game October 13th, so you can make a weekend out of it. Its played at Hanging Rock Golf Club in Salem, VA, so its convenient to play on your way back home if you live in Northern VA, Richmond, DC, New York City, or Canada. Anyways, it goes to a great cause and its a really good time. Joe and a few other TKPers have tossed around the idea of playing this year as well. Below is the flyer:

Also, for those that care, a little background of why we started doing this. My first senior year when we played in the 2010 NCBA World Series in Tampa I attended the yearly NCBA conference and we were throwing around ideas of what teams used different fundraising ideas. When they asked me what we did, and I told them nothing really, and that we ran our team on about 8k a year everyone's jaw hit the floor. Penn State, Arizona, Colorado State has a +/- 80k budget and we were still hanging with some of these teams. So we decided to start a golf tournament, and its been a great event ever since then. Hope to see some of you guys out there.
