I know this has been discussed previously somewhere on the site, but I'm looking for some insight on parking/tailgating from anyone who has been to a game at the Georgia Dome. Any advice/drunken tailgating stories would be greatly appreciated.

Park close to a Marta station and hop on that to the dome. Parking in Atlanta is terrible as is, no need to add 80,000 people walking around and change in traffic patterns
This - I have used MARTA for every game that I've attended in the Atlanta area. The convenience of the Georgia Dome station makes it a no-brainer. If all else fails you can park out at the airport and take the MARTA in from there.
Parking is very limited -the dome utilizes a parking deck. There are self/honor-parks all over the place in/around Centennial Park but your tailgating will only happen if you've "convoyed" and set up... yesterday.
There will be plenty going on down there with all the commercial festivities, especially at the dome. The discerning -tailgater for pregame, to offer some advice, is rock a kid's wagon with a cooler mounted on top of it and your favorite tailgating "accoutrement" and then roam the sidewalks for Hokie camp(s). There will be few in comparison to Bama's crowd (derrr) but you'll find 'em. If anyone has some tactical plans in place on the site as to where they're looking to meet up, perhaps this post might be a good start...
And beware, Dragon Con is also downtown/taking place this weekend (http://www.dragoncon.org/) so, yeah.
Let's go...
