What he says isn't news. He's been reading this site. And he should know that Beamer is trying to address the basic issue of down recruiting on offense and has commitments from a decently regarded groups of out-of-state players.

I think it's an point worth highlighting. We have not had this type of QB uncertainty since Vick bolted and left us with Noel, and even then, we only had Noel. Now, we've got like 5 QB's to choose from.
Of course, we've also got this new offensive staff and how they will come together. Not only are we waiting to see if they will come together, we've got to worry about them leaving more than we ever have before. One thing we didn't have to worry about with the last offensive regime: someone poaching them (hey, silver lining!).
And, finally, the big man will retire and we don't have a clear successor.
There is a significant amount of uncertainty.

I hate to agree. ESPN is catering to the ultimate in the casual fan.
To say hings are going to be interesting is an understatement. One of the winningest programs of the last decade or so completely flipped it's offensive staff and is now pulling in recruits that are the absolute epitome of what we want.
ESPN stinks.

The next two years are going to be interesting because VT has been a good-not-great team for a decade and in the last two years have as many loses as the last 8 combined (approximately). VT can see it's hold on the 757 slipping a bit. If we don't return to (at minimum) Coastal dominance, then we can see some real struggles to stay on top.
The fact that Beamer has 1) made coaching changes to get younger 2) Still has the most wins in FBS 3) Has 22 consecutive winning seasons under his belt (Florida can't say that anymore)
The sky is not falling. Getting on the map was one thing, now its time to stay there. I trust this organization to do it.

#star recruits get attention. That could be important to a coach trying to get noticed.
Frank has a lot of attention. His system is proven and he runs a clean program.
He looks for the right kids to fit into his system based on character as much as talent.
Id say he's doing a great job at it too!
GO HOKIES!!!!

Am I the only hokie that just can't get worked up about "va tech" or when high school recruits say "the university of Virginia tech"? Like, I understand that I SHOULD care, but I just can't...

Agreed hard to get too worked up. I do hate it when the media names us incorrectly, such as nicestcolleges twitter naming virginia tech university to their list. Nice we are on the list but follow the media guide.
Also, if you attend or are going to attend, I feel like you can use any nickname you want. But that's just me.

So far the list of verbals for the offensive is very interesting. Multiple OLs, RBs, WRs and two quality QBs. The coaches have been aggressive and it is great to watch unfold. I can't wait until these kids get on campus.

"The next two years are going to be very interesting for Va. Tech."
Gee, thanks, Jeremy - nobody here could have figured that one out.

He's certainly right about the skill players. We'll have 8 RBs and 5 QBs next year and still don't know if any are worth starting.

He called us Va. Tech. I have no respect for anything he said. (Pet peeve, sorry not sorry)

For all the times I've seen us called Virginia I'm fine with be called Va Tech or The University of Virginia Tech. Just don't call us Virginia.
I don't mind the abbreviation, but when they say "Vah Tech," that kills me.
i find it unfair that you never hear "Gah Tech"
They are just "Tech".
I only take umbrage with it, when a Hoo says it with contempt and disdain for our beloved Virginia Tech.
Michael Oher (of The Blind Side fame) says that he attended the University of Ole Miss during the player introductions. Yeah, no.
It just sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me, but other than that I don't care too much

You can get some reasonably functional and affordable cordless phones from vTech.
They are the industry standard just like vahh tech football
