Fork Union OL Jonathan McLaughlin tweets that he's cleared; still awaiting word on RB Drew Harris

"Offensive line commit Jonathan McLaughlin of Fork Union tweeted Tuesday afternoon that he was cleared by the NCAA academically and is ready to start school at Virginia Tech this semester.

"For all the hokie reporters/fans that follow me, I am cleared and ready to start school for this semester ! Thanking God! GO HOKIES !" he tweeted.

The 6-foot-4, 288-pound lineman from Mauldin, S.C., switched his commitment from East Carolina to Virginia Tech last month. He spent last year at Fork Union and hoped to enroll this semester to go through spring drills.

The Hokies are still awaiting word on another Fork Union attendee, four-star running back Drew Harris. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder from Exton, Pa., signed with Virginia Tech last February but didn't qualify.

Fork Union coach John Shuman told Roger Gonzalez of The News Virginian that he expects Harris to qualify and enroll at Tech."

Really hope Drew clears. Like Logan said in his announcement interview, "We'll be getting back to running the ball next year." and I think Drew will be a big part of it.

I wish he could be getting practice this semester
