This is the report card Heather Dinich gave Tech football for this season. I agreed with our offensive and defensive grade, but our overall and defensive grade? The defense was worthy of a B and giving a team who won their bowl game an overall grade of a D? Sure.

I don't put any faith in Dinich's "grades"
They mean nothing to me. Same goes for her "top 25 players" lists and power rankings, where she pretty much just sorts by overall record and uses H2H then "how good they should be" as tiebreakers.

She's sitting at home waiting for the NCAA to rule on her strongly worded letter, aka petition, for Jacory Harris and EJ Manuel to receive a fifth year. Seriously, any ACC team could win a BCS Bowl/BCSNG and she might rate them behind the U and FSU. Even their alums/fan bases are tired of her stage five clinger/stalker-ish love of their schools.
I quote tweeted the link to it and told her to quit her job. No reply. Bummer.
Context
I pretty much called exactly how HD would grade us, not that I agree with it in full. On the offensive side, 100% agreement. With the defense, I think what we need to look at is the context. What did the defense mean to our team? They were the only reason we even hung around in a few games, the reason we scared the crap out of FSU for 58:30 and the only reason we won our bowl game. Statistically speaking, not one of our strongest years, and thus in terms of absolutes it wasn't a great year. But given that the only reason we had the (small amount of) success we did suggests the defense deserves a better grade.
The way I see it, offense: F, defense: B (with high marks for improvement), overall: C+
HD is probably immune to all our criticisms by now. The criminole and candy cane faithful resent her just as much as we do. She favors clemson for next season, which probably means they'll have a spectacular collapse (aka "pulling a Clemson").
We could win an NC and HD would still find a way to criticize us. I read her blogs for humor now.

Clemson's defense was 3rd in the ACC, ours was 2nd. Clemson got a B, we got a C. Seems pretty logical Heather...
