We come in at 25th. However, they calculate stadium size in to the equation so its a pretty poor way to measure.

Maybe your school comes in at 25th, but I don't go to Virginia Tech University. I go to VPI.

Rip his freaking head off!

Jesus i didnt even notice that. okay all credibility of this "ranking" is forfeited

all maroon everything

However, according to the 2013 Media guide "Virginia Tech University" is acceptable in Media outlets. Only "VT", "Vah Tech" and "VA Tech" are frowned upon. But I agree, VPI>VTU.

Where do you see that? The only place I find when doing a ctrl-F for "Virginia Tech University" says this:

Those covering Hokie athletics are
asked to refer to the university as simply
Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech University,
VPI and SU, VPI&SU, Vah Tech, VT or
VA Tech are not recognized names and
should not be used

I, for one, believe that VPI&SU is cool, but not VPI and SU is not.
VA Tech is cool, but Vah Tech is not. But it always sounds stupid to say, so stop it.
VT is cool, Virginia Tech University is not.
I went to Virginia Tech. I went to school in Hokietown.

Honestly, it seems like a pretty reasonable list, according to their metrics. If you are going to include size of stadiums and number of fans, then the B1G and SEC schools are going to come out on top for the most part. The only surprising teams to me were USCw and Missouri. I really doubt that USC had full stadiums these past few years and their fans are extremely fair-weather. Missouri just doesn't seem to have a fanbase that I would associate with a ranking like this, but whatevs.

I wonder about the "median ticket price" metric, and if they take into account the donor levels required for certain seats. The vast majority of seats in Lane sell for $50/game, but to get decent seats you have to donate thousands annually, meaning you're paying hundreds per game, essentially. I also wonder how our system compares to other schools.

I read the link as "Most ENRAGED fans" and thought, "How didn't we win first place after last season?"

"You know when the Hokies say 'We are Virginia Tech' they're going to mean it."- Lee Corso

#LOLUVa probably would top the list of least-engaged fans. Seriously, how many of their undergrads even know how to get to Lane Stadium - North?
