Hahaha Maryland is ranked ahead of the #newhoos
They beat them 27-20 last year, so that makes sense, I guess.
My brother and a bunch of my friends go to UMD. My brother is convinced that they will win 8 games next year. He doesn't think of it as a possibility, he thinks it's a fact that they will win 8 games. Oh Maryland, their fans might not be as physically violent as WVU fans but they're definitely as classless.
granted i've never been to morgantown but i've never been treated as poorly as i was in byrd. hell, a friend and i were sitting in their section at lane and it was a constant barrage of shit talking and personal insults.
Yeah, UMD is not the place to be. I grew up in MD, wanted to make it to one of our away games in MD, was advised by my friend not to when he told his friends I'd be showing up, then showed up not on a gameday to get spit on at a bar multiple times.
well we never got spit on but at the game we asked some of the twerps sitting around us, the one's who werent openly hostile at least, where all the bars were. one suggested a couple but added "dont wear your tech gear. seriously." must've been what he was talking about.
we had a good time but walking back to the car was ridiculous. inside the stadium the maryland fans were actually getting loud when their offense had a 3rd or 4th down. it was hilarious. somebody threw peanuts at me but that was after umd missed a fg to end the first half and i yelled out "dont worry terps, field goals wont beat us anyway!" worth it.
The worst I saw was when I went to a UMD-FSU game 4 or 5 years ago. Some FSU fans were holding up a sign, and then I turned around and they had disappeared into the crowd. And if you ever talk to a Maryland fan about why their team lost it will never be because the other team is better. As far as they're concerned the refs are always out to get them.
They'll probably lose to ODU!
That's why I love going to UNC away games. You have the stadium to yourself by the 2nd Quarter when their students lose interest & go to Franklin St. AND free diploma with your snack bar drink!
**EDIT**
Meant to reply to the comment about the bad time at Byrd Stadium
With a name like that, I hope you're a pregnant hokie alum.
Nah, my wife just wants to post her replies and was too lazy to actually make her own profile.
I spent face value at UNC to sit 50 yard line, first row. The seats were actually, too good because I couldn't see over the players.
