I was thinking the same, may be too crowded for him.
We're loaded with DB Talent for the next few seasons. I'd pickup a solid OL in his place. A good offense is built with a stout line as its foundation.

I imagine it has more to do with wanting to stay close to home. The kid's from Durham, after all. I didn't feel that way when I went to school, but I can understand it. No hard feelings here. I think we'll be just fine.
I'd be really surprised if it was too far from home. Almost every in-state kid has a farther drive to tech than he would. My guess is what most people are saying: just too much talent coming in at that position.
Whatever the reason, it's nice to see everyone being level-headed about this. It doesn't take much digging to find this site and it reflects well on our fan base when people wish the kid luck as opposed to bashing him. Good luck Kalen and go Hokies!

They really need to change the recruiting terminology of "commit", to something else. Commitment, it just doesnt have the same meaning anymore
I agree completely. It used to be a handshake was all it took to seal the deal, but now, not even signing the NLI is as ironclad.
Bummer, but at least he's being upfront and honest about it. *cough* Jawand Blue *cough* He's changed his mind, and with enough time for us to possibly find a replacement for his slot on the field. Stinks, though; that kid had a *nice* skill set for our style of play.
Even though I disagree that he will find anywhere better than Tech, Im glad to see most of us are handling this like adults. Hes allowed to change his mind and I wish him the best of luck. When I see this about a miami or fsu recruit their fans always act like spoiled kids and say "good riddance" or "he sucked anyway." Hokies Respect...except uva, they suck
