Per the WaPo article from when he was first arrested in 2011:
Almost eight months after his mere presence at a fight near James Madison University nearly ended his Cavaliers career, Walcott said hes relying more on intuition these days. Thats how he took full advantage of the second chance Coach Mike London gave him on the football team, at a position hed never before played.
Thats how he came to accept that talking to a psychologist was good for him.
Thats why he wasnt surprised when the coaching staff recently told him to move back to the unit for which he started 11 games last season.
I spent a lot of that time [when he was suspended] by myself, getting help on things that I can do to improve on myself and make myself a better person, as well as a better player, said Walcott, a fourth-year junior. I spent a lot of time reading and just trying to find out why I was making that decision, why that happened to me, why I didnt make a different decision.
Sounds like Mike London helped him learn his lesson.

I know right. I didn't think any UVA player had any fight in'm. Haven't seen any on the field recently (38-0 bro). Attemped Murder? Can clawing and pulling hair really put someone in critical condition?

I'm not pointing out any one comment in this thread, or the poster who started it, because I think everyone is staying in bounds - and it is a news story worthy of mention/discussion. Just wanted to make sure this didn't devolve though, and reflect poorly on Hokie Nation. Hoo jokes aside (and I love those), this is an attempted murder case, and someone is still in the hospital (probably) because of it. So... I guess just a word of warning to think before you post in this instance (or always, I guess!).
Probably not a necessary warning for the wonderful TKP community, but I felt compelled to speak up. Sorry in advance for the 'Dad-ness' of it...

Being a father of four, there's a high probability one of my monkeys will end-up in prison so let's keep it cordial. Plus we don't want any potential recruits' parents seeing this and slandering HokieNation (or The Key Play, for that matter) in 'monosyllabic slurring' with rampant mis-spellings and what-not on Twitter...

Respect that...All in good jest. I'm a Dad too with 3 and another expected any day now. Not the most sensitive male, however, I am definitly not trying to offend anyone.

Totally! And I probably didn't stress enough that I didn't feel anyone here had already crossed a line (towards distaste, etc.). I just saw the possibility to easily cross the line with jokes on this subject matter, and felt compelled to make the comment I made. Hope I didn't make you or anyone else feel bad!!

Not really sure buddy. I guess bc when someone on team either gets kicked off the team or arrested all the hoos say we are a thug team and blah blah blah. But seriously I meant no harm. And I LOVE horses (on a treadmill) ;)

At least he didn't pull an Aaron Hernandez. Good god is that guy a moron. I know it's innocent until proven guilty and all but from the sounds of it that guy is toast.

Ugh. Sounds vicious.

1.5 sacks. Wow he was really a menace to opposing QBs
Are we sure it was a "Gentlemen's Club" and not a "Ladies' Club"? UVA players have been known to frequent establishments like these.

Maybe too many Zimas gives you super human strength.

Absolutely agree. Just wanted to post and see what discussion was generated. No harm intended to anybody.
NOW with all that being said; back "hahahahahahahahaaaaa"...
To be clear...my Zima comment was a joke. Not trying to be insensitive to the victim by any means.
I'm sorry if it was distasteful.

You too AMB4VT. How can such an admirer of Horses (on treadmills) be so insensitive. I am apalled.

Did Mike London make a citizen's arrest? You know he used to be a cop
