Looking at this guys stats, he seems to be a reliable and consistent target. Do you think his break-out game is him coming into his own or do you think he is just an average receiver surrounded by mediocre ones? Where do you think he would be positioned on the depth chart for an SEC team? Personally, I really really like him. I believe he has a chance to develop into an all ACC performer his senior year.

I think we simply have an experience problem at WR, but we knew that would be the case coming into the season. I have been impressed with Stanford's quick development this season. I think he was very shaky at the start of the season but has quickly acclimated to the college game. I suspect he will be a strong route runner and dangerous target for Hokie QBs in years to come. I am also very excited to watch his continued development.
What exactly happened to Byrn and how bad was it?
Took a hit to the hamstring/butt while going to the ground. He walked off, but was limping. The team hasn't commented on his status yet.
Looked to me like the guy's knee hit him in the back on his way down. Seems like something that'll hurt like crazy but will probably be better by next week.
Yup he was on the sideline stretching his back. He kept talking to Aaron with his helmet on, but never went back in.
I'm not surprised. I heard nothing but good things from the coaching staff since Stanford enrolled at Virginia Tech.
He had a great game.
He made some tough catches across the middle and took some hits.
He looks like he's starting to play with a mean streak, which is badly needed in our WR corps.
He showed some real YAC ability too. Had some impressive moves.
Should be starting over Knowles.
I'm pretty sure receiver is the one position where being a starter means little, since the number of receivers in a formation varies so much, and the players are always rotating in and out
Yep. Just ask ny giants wr Marc Davis :)
I'd be interested in seeing the percentages on our WR sets. Rogers and Cline get a good amount of snaps though, so that means 2 WR sets when both are in the game.
I'm glad someone started a Stanford thread. This guy is looking really good to my eyes. The 69 yard catch was a hell of a lot of effort on his part, and had me standing up and cheering. He's definitely my favorite receiver at this point, and his future looks bright. I remember hearing someone last season that he was looking good on scout team/in practice/wherever, and I was surprised not to see more of him last year. But this year he seems to become more reliable by the game, and as long as he puts in the work to be really good, he'll get there. Stanford and Mangus look like the immediate future of our WR and tailback rotations.
He's going to be a stud, oh wait he already is. I think that he will challenge Coale and Boykin's records while here at Tech.
Good quality receiver and his big plays gave us a chance
I love how he can extend plays. Reminds me of our usual #1 guy.
been saying it since the spring game. with a couple notable exceptions, i thought the wr's played pretty well over all but #5 just went ham.
