OT-Let the debate begin: Sauces, ranked [via Deadspin]

While I can respect anyone listing gravy as their #1 sauce, I would've gone with something different. That being said: Ketchup is way too high, Sriracha is way too low, and Applesauce can GTFO. Thoughts?

Loses it's credibility due to the fact that marinara is anywhere lower than first.

After reading that list, I am not sure I want anything to do with it. There were quite a few listed that I am not even sure what language they are in let alone whats in them.

No barbecue sauce? No Cholula? This list has no credibility.

Sounds like it's the best Asia Sauces - lots of things I've never heard of...

Texas Pete > Cholula - goes better on bbq.

I can buy that. I like Cholula on many things, but Texas Pete was made for BBQ. That typed... Frank's make BBQ perfect!

Plus for Texas Pete, ironically made in Winston-Salem, NC (home of Krispy Kreme, as well.)

Does Curry sauce count?

How do you categorize all hot sauces as "hot sauce"?? There are literally hundreds of thousands of hot sauces and many would easily beat the majority of this list. And to be tied with soy sauce? A sauce that has virtually one flavor? SMH

He's no good to me dead.

I swear they put Crack in this; it's that addicting!

HP Sauce has a malt vinegar base, blended with tomato, dates, tamarind extract, sweetener and spices.

Sawmill gravy

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Ketchup as #2 means this list is terrible. "Satay sauce" AKA peanut sauce and chocolate sauce are both way too low.

Also, seeing the word "sauce" written out that many times looks weird...

1) Shrimp sauce, yum yum sauce or whatever the Japanese steak house I visit that day calls its yummy sweet concoction of sauce. It is good on steak, scallops, chicken, shrimp, rice, grilled vegetables, salad... pretty much everything but pie and cake. This is a no-brainer.

2) Duck Sauce absolutely has a place, as does it's close cousins Sweet and Sour and ChikFilA's Polynesian sauce.

2) +1 for Etoufee, as stated in a prior post by Egbert.

3) Saw mill gravy. It won't let me give a plus 2.

4) Honey mustard. Hello?

5) Bolognese

6) Butter curry sauce for Butter Chicken

7) Redacted soy sauce with balsamic vinegar (used for making lomo saltado)

8) MFing COOL WHIP

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

+1 for honey mustard

A list without Ranch isn't worth the electrons it's posted with.

1) halal white sauce
2) sriracha
3) hokie sauce (from kobe)
4) every other sauce
