Was just wondering why Boone doesn't have an offer. Seems like he would commit and is crying for any offers at this point.
Also, with Lee gone, we have to remember Keihn is still out there, as will as Minor and Payton. Keihn is taking his official next weekend at UMD game.

He probably doesn't have an offer because his film doesn't merit it. A lot of folks think Minor is a lock to Tech, but then again those same folks pegged Lee to Tech yesterday. Landing Minor and Keihn are absolutely priorities now. Hopefully the coaches can close.
We need LB's.
What about Eric Grimm, Cody Grimm's little brother?
Don't they have an older brother who also played at Tech? I seem to recall him being there early on in my college days (2006-07ish).
Yup, Chad played at Tech. Can't remember when, but Cody's old Hokiesports profile references him: http://www.hokiesports.com/football/players/grimm_cody.html
Did some digging. Chad played from 2003-06. Profile below is from his senior year.

Eric Grimm is actually his cousin. Was just looking at his tape, I don't see him as a d1 player unfortunately. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJGgHrxwRZc
Just seems odd to be a 3 star but have absolutely no offers.
I think Keihn and Minor are a bit more leaning then Lee was. I think the folks saw some twitter action from lee and went crazy with speculation.
As long as Payton gets his grades right, he'll be a hokie.
Yes, he's intriguing.
Sounds like he's a 'neath the radar type that has great potential: size, speed.
Interesting that uva's after him now as well.
I thought they wouldn't consider kids with academic concerns?
He has also played on another level which I think helps. If his grades are good, he is a lock. Seems to love VT.
Eli Harold?
I may be wrong, but I see Keihn committing Saturday during his official. He's had quite a few pro-Hokie tweets
Edit: maybe those eyes in his tweet means he is rolling his eyes. Heck I don't know. But he has been actively tweeting that girl that helps recruit for us. The same one that was in pictures with Shai Mckenzie

I guess he could always change his mind, but he's stated that he's committing during the Under Armour All American game.
Oh ok. Thanks for embedding the tweet and clearing it up for me
No problem. But yea, I still like our chances a lot. I mean the other 2 schools he seems to be considering are UVA and Maryland and they aren't doing too well obviously. Plus he interacts with a ton of VT recruits like Walker, Reavis and Edmunds on twitter so I think he gets along with a lot of the guys. Oh and like it has been mentioned that one girl who's been on McKenzie is doing a good job with Keihn as well :)
I honestly think it'd be pretty cool if we got a commitment from Keihn during the Under Armour bowl. Obviously most of the guys there are elite caliber guys and I would bet a bunch of high school kids will be watching so getting a commitment on national TV would be pretty cool. Btw, when's the last time we got a highly rated recruit commitment on a national scale like that? I remember last year I watched the Army and Under Armour bowl and all the guys were Bama, USC, ND, OSU, etc. Can't remember us getting a commit like that.
This was pretty cool.
Oh, I wasn't aware that Kendall's decision was on ESNPU. That's a pretty big deal.
But it looks like it was at a camp and probably aired during college football live or something. I think if Keihn picks us at the UA bowl, that would be the "flashiest" commit we've gotten in a while. Also, maybe Nnadi announces during the Army bowl? I guess it's a possibility.
Yeah, it would be the first time we've had a recruit commit to us during a High School All American Bowl since Ryan Williams. Ah...good times
Considering that he was flirting with either VT or Clemson; this moment was vindication and complete euphoria
I like to think he was just toying with Clemson's heartstrings.
On another note, I kinda feel bad for Marcus Boone. Earlier in the year when the recruiting cycle just started, I remember Boone always being mentioned along with Hand (obviously not as the same talent, but he seemed like a decent prospect plus people always mentioned getting Boone could help getting Hand) and even saw a few photo shoots with Boone and Hand together for pre-season stuff getting hype. Without an offer this late in the recruiting cycle, I fear he may not end up with one. Which is fine if no school feels like he's good enough, but I just feel like he may have thought he was getting some looks from colleges when in reality he was just a sidekick for Hand in all of the coaches eyes during visits an what not.
I don't know why I feel bad since I don't even know him, but when I saw the kid tweet "can I please just have 1 offer?" it kinda hit me.
Yeah felt that tweet was sad too. Actually part of the reason this post was created.
With any luck, wherever he ends up, that drives him to play his nuts off more than any other player on the field. That means so much more than how you were recruited or how many stars you had.
Well, he can walk on at Tech, and we might make him into a Byrn or Tyler.
Wasn't Grimm a walkon as well?
Cody Grimm comes up twice in one discussion! This topic has come full circle. Very Zen
I hope that he is at least talking to some schools, where they are offering him a preferred walk on or something. Seems like a good kid. I'm sure all of this is only making him more determined. I know that some of our commits are good with him, so hope he ends up in a good spot.
