Nooooooooo
n!
Got a good chuckle out of that
Thanks for the help
That's why I'm here.
This made me giggle.
At least those BC fans will have to eat breakfast and see the pain it is to be a Hokie fan.
Of course it's a noon game. I'm getting ready for a slow game that we barely squeak out.
Sucks for all the Boston College fan out there.
I see what you did there.
and the VT alums that live in Boston
And...I'm one that lives near Boston and will be taking my kids to the game. I certainly hope they play better than they did last year at BC...the first half was atrocious and embarrassing. The team was just standing around, no emotion, getting their asses kicked on the field, until Bruce Taylor started going up & down the sidelines yelling and motivating.
That game would be earlier if they played games at 11!
As if going to BC two years in a row wasnt tough enough. Getting up for the nooner in a weak environment definitely not a good mix.
I look at this as a blessing in some ways. BC is an away game with Miami the following week, another away game. Going to both ends of the conference in back to back weeks, with this noon start the team is back in Blacksburg earlier.
At least its on ABC, ESPN, or ESPN 2. Hate the nooners though.
This, ...this means I get to watch them play.
and it means HD!!!
Mama Giraffe?
ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2? I'll take it. Hope the boys come ready because this has all the makings of a close one.

This game scares the crap outta me for some reason. Also, I hope the coaches keep the team motivated. With all the youth we have on this time, I hope they dont lose focus due to the recent "love" we are getting in the polls. I hope they dont think that we are better than we really are...........as has happened in the past. Im just so sick of us "playing down" to the level of our competition. For once I would like to see us dominate games like we used to........from start to fininsh....
Read James Gayle talking about what it is like to remember last year when they went into games expecting to win. I don't think this team has any issue with being motivated. My issue is that BC has been putting real scares into teams like FSU and Clemson. If they match VT's defense drive-for-drive, can this offense score enough to win; in this case about 17-21 points in my opinion.
This team just feels different. I think we take care of a Duke team that will put some point on the board this weekend, and Frank and the staff have these kids with their heads in the right place for an early BC kickoff. The fact that BC has always played us tough is a good reminder, but I think its important to note that this team is chock full of guys that don't just expect to win every game anymore. They will be ready to play
That Bird Cage, it'll get after ya!

These nooners are really taxing on my marriage. When you're pouring a stiff bourbon at 11:55AM every Saturday for the better part of 2 months the wife starts to worry!
this, so much
11:55, why the wait?
Something-something less than the amount of fans at UVA's spring game...
I actually like noon games
You take your opinion somewhere eggs are served you breakfast eating commie.
Can't say I disagree. Noon games or after 7 are the best for me watching at home right now. I either get nap time or bed time, both of which give me no distractions. However, going to the game live, I hated/still hate nooners.
I like getting up on saturday and it being game time. No waiting around anxiously for the game. It also frees up my saturday to do something else. Which is usually watching other games.
but..tailgating....
For us West Coasters, the noon games are somewhat nice. I get up at 6am, get a bunch of stuff done with Gameday in full swing and the wife and kid still asleep. By 9, got all my yard work done, its usually like 72 degrees out and gorgeous, and the kid is going down for a nap right around the end of the 1st quarter. Time to crack a beer, sit out and watch the game and my wife leaves me alone.
I can always drink after if i want
Chestnut thrill?
I mostly care about game times for home games. Morning drinking at the Shark Tank is never bad.
Downvoted comment!
Weird, if anyone is offended or would like this taken down just comment.
Not personally offended, but it may be in particularly bad taste given the school shooting that occurred today in Nevada.
Oh snap, didn't even think about that. I'll remove it just in case.
Hmm I don't see where the school shooting as sad and tragic as it is has anything to do with the photo.
Might as well play it safe. Oh wells.
Also I've tried editing the picture and it's being an idiot so it may or may not still show up. I tried.
I'd wager that the weather will be horrid for this game in the northeast.
Probably gonna be something along the lines of "negative freezing my balls off" degrees out
Nah - in my opinion the weather up here is not a lot different than what I remember from Blacksburg - early November could be a nice fall day or freezing rain. Since the game is likely blacked out on cable/sat in MA I guess I'll be taking the Green Line in to see the game regardless.
But, we are undefeated in noon kickoffs, so here's to looking on the bright side!
I'm cool with it. It's not in Blacksburg and if you're not awake by noon you are wasting your life anyway. And yes, I'm in college, doesn't mean I can't wake up at a reasonable time still. Hokie House was good to me for the GT game so I'll be there by 11:15 getting some lunch and watching the game.
I agree about noon on college gameday. I wait until Sunday to sleep in until 1pm so I can get out of bed and turn on the Steelers.
Why get up at all for the Stellers? This year it's like being a fan of UNC.
I am now seriously considering buying the DirecTV package so I can watch the game on my flight to China...
