Look at the class act CFB is.
He turns a situation where another coach would be pissing up a storm into a comment like this
Beamer said he was going to try to get clarification from ACC coordinator of football officiating Doug Rhoads about the Duke punt that was originally ruled a touchback, then changed to be down at the 1-yard line.
I dont understand how a guy out of bounds could affect the play inbounds, Beamer said. But they seemed very sure that that was the rule. But that was a new one on me. They taught me something and Ive been around it a long time. But they taught me something there.
I always enjoy reading Andy's blogs, one thing he pointed out in the comments was our record the last 10 years and how strong it is. I went back and looked at the last 10 completed seasons, while it is an awesome 9.9 W to 3.5 L average, I wanted to somehow dissect it a little further, mainly because I was sitting in an airport bored. Here is what I found.
49% of our losses come from un-ranked teams over the last 10 years (I think this is where folks get cranky...)
23% of our losses come from teams ranked 11-26
29% of our losses come from teams ranked 1-10
on the winning side...
78% of our wins over the last 10 years come from un-ranked teams
17% of our wins come from teams ranked 11-25
5% of our wins come from teams ranked 1-10
Again, I am not directing this as a negative, nor positive to CFB, the teams he has coached, the teams prior to him or prior to the last 10 years, simply looking at the numbers in a different light.

Interesting breakdown, but I think the numbers speak more to our scheduling rather than level of success. Playing in the ACC, how often do we face a ranked team? The fact that there are usually no more than 2-3 ranked teams in the ACC skews both winning and losing percentages. Being unranked does not mean a team isn't good, but that's a whole different debate.
The win % vs. top-10 opponents is pretty damning, though. I think VT is something like 1-26 against top-5 opponents. At least I witnessed the one win...

I guess that accounts for some of the checkdowns we saw with open receivers down the field.
I didn't see him do any progression. Quite literally he was staring off in space
These Hokies will rebound. Still plenty to play hard for.

Yea but after that call CFB was FIRED UP. Which brings me to my point. When Beamer gets angry we score touchdowns. Stay angry, Frank!
I think angry Beamer is the new fat Beamer.
