Traveling this weekend

So guys I am headed to the OBX this Saturday morning. I just cannot not listen or watch the
game. Any ideas as far as apps (apple) or a website I can watch or pickup the radio on?
I don't have access to Sirius so that is out. I do have the Watch ESPN app on my phone.
Any one know if it will be on there? The game cast just will not cut it I'm afraid.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks guys! GO HOKIES!! :)

I believe the game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1. Best bet is to find a radio or internet stream.

You should be able to find a radio stream with it since you will be in NC. The other option is to download iHeartRadio and find a station on there that might have it. That's what I've done for games when I'm driving and it works really well. I've found several bowl games and regular season games that way.

I won't have access to a TV until around 6pm. So TV is out of the question for our game. :(
Damn these noon games!! This is the ONLY bad part of going to the beach. LOL

@AMB4VT

You should pretend that you're lost and drive to the stadium. Ask a scalper for directions and miraculously wind up with game tickets. Your family will thank you later.

Leonard. Duh.

Or just stop along the way. What's your hurry? You could spare 3.5 hours to watch the game at a restaurant, right?

gotta check in by 4pm at the realty office....kinda a long drive for us...7 hrs. And we will have my baby
niece with us so its already going to be touch and go haha! Otherwise that would have totally been an option.

@AMB4VT

I, too, will unfortunately miss this game. I am attending (and presenting at) a conference in Hooville (horrors!) but I will be thinking lots of Hokie thoughts on Saturday. I will probably keep a gamecast going on my phone during the time I'm not actually presenting. Cheer extra hard for me, TKPers!

"Exit light..."

We did this last year. I just kept finding the game on local radio stations from Nothern VA down to Emerald Isle, NC. Given that's it's ECU I can't imagine that you could do the same thing. If you don't control the radio, I'd just find one of the IPS Radio Network stations online and listen to their live stream.

The wife and I will be in Hoo-ville for a wedding on Saturday, but should be able to hit a bar for lunch and some pre-wedding beers and catch some of the game. Anyone have any suggestions?

Bob: What would ya say ya do here?

Brad: I already told you! I iron out the minutiae so Justin doesn't have to. I have people skills dammit! What the hell is wrong with you people?

I hear Scott Stadium is a good place to watch a Tech game

Nobody home there this weekend....bye week for the hoos.....that being said, I think Oregon will score on them a couple of times.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

Probably will STILL be more people there then if they had a home game...

Definitely more than they had at the spring game.

When I go to the OBX from either Blacksburg or NOVA, I always left at like 2 or 3 in the morning. Get there at 8 or 9, hang out until the house is open, enjoy life. See the noon game. Gotta make it that early, though, because by 10 or 11 the traffic through NagsHead/KillDevilHills/KittyHawk is killer. And you still have an hour to go until Buxton.

Strange, I would have expected you to vacation over on Assateague or Chincoteague Island...

Hahaha!! There are wild horses on Ocracoke island as well. His ass should be trotting down to visit!! ;-)

@AMB4VT

I believe the steed himself needs to trot down, not his ass.

My trotting will only be to and from campus that week :( Boo urns.

Way to turn down the invite Horse. Not a very stud-ly thing to do.

Boo indeed. :(

@AMB4VT

Sorry, April :( My group shifted weeks anywho, I wouldn't be down until the 21st anyway. Even then, I can't take the time away from school. :(

Oh it's totally cool Horse. Maybe in another 3 yrs when I go back you will be done with school. ;)

@AMB4VT

I will be! At least I better be. The next courses I'm taking will be tough, though, Linear Galloping and Theory of Hay.

I'll be headed to Blacksburg before that at some point, though.

I can't wait to see the picture of AMB riding Horse off into the sunset....on a treadmill.

That will be one of our wedding pics lol ;-)

@AMB4VT

What are you studying Horse?

@AMB4VT

Masters of Industrial Engineering and the art of wooing months.

awesome! Now get you butt back to the Burg stables where you belong.

@AMB4VT

You should be able to get the game on the local radio. Strangely enough, I could pick up a Roanoke station (94.9 maybe?) while driving along 64 and 264 towards Greenville and New Bern for work.

Camp Don Lee or Sea Gull?

Sea Gull and those were some great summers. Just wish they'd offer a legacy discount, when I have children!

Sea Gull is a great camp. Good spot on the Neuse for teaching little chicks how to sail.

It's a weird streaming site but vipboxonline.eu streams most college football games on Saturday.

I just sit on my couch and b*tch. - HokieChemE2016

will anyone have the direct link to the internet stream? i'm poor and cant afford cable

Virginia Tech, the only school that actually eats its own mascot <3

I don't know about a direct link, but I stream baseball games and nfl games by searching "stream mlb games" or "stream nfl games", and then click on a few of the different links. The one I use for baseball a lot is streamhunter. It will usually have a list of all the games that are happening that day, and you can click on one of them. It will then give you different links you can click on to watch from. If you choose a flash link, it should just stream like youtube, you won't have to make any accounts or anything like that.

Here you go...Assuming you are leaving the NRV area on Saturday morning, one of these should be within reach by game time. The Nags Head station will hook you up once you get there.

Elizabeth City, N.C. - WGAI (560 AM)
Fayetteville - WFBX (1450 AM)
Greenville - WNCT (107.9 FM)
Hamlet - WKDX (1250 AM)
Nags Head - WZPR (92.3 FM)
Raleigh - WPTK (850 AM)
Sanford - WFJA (105.5 FM)
Williamston - WIAM (900 AM)
Wilmington - WAAV (980 AM)

You just rocked my world Leonard! Thanks so much!!!! I wish I could give you 100 turkey legs. :)

@AMB4VT

If youre in Northern OBX go to Barefoot Bernies, they have free Wi-Fi to stream the game and if playing ECU will definitely have the game up.

Thanks RiVA! We actually just changed our plans. We are leaving earlier so the baby can sleep longer
and we will prob roll into Nags Head right around lunch time which is perfect to find the
game on somewhere. So thanks for the tip man!! :)

@AMB4VT

I am going out of town too. Flying out Saturday and returning the next weekend on Sunday. I might miss 2 consecutive games. Those would be the first games I missed in years. Will Phreak be putting up a stream? That is likely my only chance.

Going to Puerto Rico and have no idea of the tv situation down there.

"I'm too drunk to taste this chicken" - Colonel Sanders via Ricky Bobby

Stream will be shaky this weekend because ESPN doesn't own the game. The Marshall game will be on ESPN 3 so Phreak will probably be able to get something going for that one.
