I have to disagree, but maybe it's my perspective.
I am not miserable after watching my Hokies beat Marshall.
This team is/will be a rollercoaster ride this year and I'm enjoying it so far.

Also, am I crazy to think that Knowles may have some success in a different role with some screens and reverses?
Between him and LT, the long passes ain't working.
But with his speed, if he can get the ball closer to the LOS he maybe able to make some YACs, ala Sammy Watkins.
It seems that Stanford could be used to stretch the defense as he seems more reliable reeling in the long passes.

I think they ran a jet sweep with him and he seemed really timid. I don't know if he just has bad vision or what but he just didn't seem to attack the hole. Knowels needs to man up or else he's going to fizzle out. I think Stanford is going to turn into one of our top receivers.

I don't remember the Knowles sweep, but it sounds familiar. His overall play has been lackluster, and I think if he develops a bit more confidence, he could be a weapon when he gets up to speed. Likely he's had little to no training running sweep plays, so it may just be something worth exploring.
I'm also very excited to see how Stanford develops. It looks like he is improving very quickly. I was happy with how he played in the Marshall game.

Knowles can be a good receiver on fly patterns IF he can get separation (usually doable with his speed) and IF Logan will lead him enough so that he does not have to come back for the ball. I cringe when I see Logan throw the deep ball b/c he always seems to underestimate his receiver's speed and therefore underthrows them. That can work if your receiver is 6'4" and jumps like a gazelle, but not for a receiver like Knowles who loses almost every jump ball.
Knowles' 2 most famous catches, 2012 vs GT and 2013 vs ECU, show that he can get behind defenders and make the catch, but Logan must be sure to put the ball where only Knowles can get it, or an INT is likely since Knowles is easy to defeat in a jump ball situation. Right now, VT does not have any tall receivers playing who can win battles against defenders by outjumping them and pulling down an underthrown ball.
In the words of Clint Eastwood, "A man's gotta know his limitations." Or in this case, a QB's got to know his receivers' limitations.

good read...like the Leal Truthers bit
If Leal proves himself to be the best option next year at QB, the coaches will give him the nod. Logan is our QB
The people that comment on these blog posts are booger eating VT haters who couldn't get into Tech.... Love the blog.... Hate the commenters.
"booger eating VT haters who couldn't get into Tech"??? I need a napkin to clean up the Coke I just spewed on my monitor. Well done humorous sir.
USA Today posted their week 4 misery index... VT 2nd behind WVU. Link:

Between ESPN and USA Today, I hope we give them one big poop burger Thursday!

Seriously. We lost to Bama, but it was far from "hapless."
Hapless means unlucky, most people misuse it when they mean hopeless (true of VT vs Bama) and or helpless (a more apt description of VT-Bama)
Well, I learned something tonight. Thanks.
Like this guy.

Given Knowles' speed, I could see him being used effectively on jet-sweep plays.
