Kyle Fuller says he will play some whip linebacker against Georgia Tech

I am not sure if this is a huge surprise, given Kyle's experience against the Yellow Jackets and both Kendall and Facyson's ability to play deep halves in an inverted cover two or deep thirds in a cover three.

In 2011, Foster played a 4-3 with the whip and the backer outside the DE's, the mike very deep over the center and two deep safeties. The linebackers played closer to the line last year, but the Hokies stayed with two deep safeties. I wonder if he will throw another change up and play with the 4-4, with the DL crashing on dive, the inside backers scraping, and Fuller and Jarrett one on one with the pitch man. Jarrett's health is critical, because GT likes to use the wingbacks to get vertical.

The more I think about it, having Bonner deep as a center field safety to help those hybrid outside linebackers makes a lot of sense.

*this is why I shouldn't coach. This is making too much sense, and that means it is probably a bad idea.

This is such an awesome problem to have. It's funny how we go from being worried about depth before the first game to having to make arguably our best corner play Whip LB to get him on the field. Another successful year at DBU.

"Now Miami wants to talk about it." *Cue Enter Sandman*

Prepare for some big time hits.

It doesn't get any better than Blacksburg on a Thursday, so prepare to see what we do when don't get one.
