Thanks Andy. For those discussing Marshawn still being 3rd on the depth chart, it is worth noting that one of his highlight reel runs on Saturday came with the first team offense. He is getting some 1 reps. It perhaps is more impressive that he has had great runs behind the backup OL against the #1 D.

I got the chance to watch from the sidelines this past Saturday, and at one point, Lefty told Shane that Williams was "going to get 5 of 6" on the next series. Looks like Lefty really wanted to get a good look at him. Then, Shane came up to Williams and told him that the next challenge was to do it against the 1st-team defense in the good-on-good portion. And yes, it's quite incredible that he had so much success against the starting D-line when you look at how that second team got abused all day.

Williams seems to have some fans on the coaching staff. O-line coach Stacy Searels kept asking Shane to put Williams in for more carries at the scrimmage. The linemen, at least based on Caleb Farris' comments, sure like blocking for a bruising back too.
I love that he's getting other players on the team amped up. The OLine will probably find more energy and drive in their blocking when they know behind them is a human battering ram. Running plays must have gotten a little wearing when much forward progress was hard to come by.

YESSSSSSSSSS not only are the coaches wanting to see/have more JUICE the players are taking to it. They're seeing a freshmen tank come through be patient and then hit the right hole. Its a scary/beastly thing to hear players on the OL getting pumped to block for him.

Good info - thanks!

This right here. Players get amped up when it comes to power players. Changes the entire dynamic of the squad when those players come in.
