I'm thanking god for the position I'm in everything is on the up and up (225 today let keep it like that) http://t.co/0DSTK6Btvk— Marshawn Williams (@RunJuice42) August 10, 2014
It didn't take too long for Williams to get to Frank Beamer's goal weight for him.

He looks like he is ready to decimate a special forces squad in a Guatemalan jungle.
Our RBs are going to be so good in the next couple of years with him and Shai. Although, I think they can be very serviceable this year if all goes well with Trey.
If it bleeds, we can kill it
Go get 'em Juice!
That's great. If he's Hi-C, what's McKenzie, Jiffy Pop? Catch him if you can.
I don't want a healthy marshawn 'juice' Williams to redshirt .
I don't think he will. I think between him and McKenzie, we're very close to seeing the return of "RBU" status that we haven't seen since Wilson left. The future of the RB position at Virginia Tech is very, very bright.
As long as they stay healthy.
I'm a simpleton and probably overly tired, but this is my favorite title yet.

I hope Shane Beamer puts the Best on the Field ! Some times I wonder about that and his decisions ....
Hopefully we are able to stick with two dynamic backs for the majority of the games this year and have a third that comes in every now and then but not too often. In my mind, Trey, Williams and Caleb. I'm excited to see Shai run as well but I think it may be beneficial to give him a redshirt just to ensure his ACL is fully good to go.
I do not want to see three backs that get equal carries. I think that messes up their flow in the game. Plus even when we had RMFW, D Evans and Wilson carrying the rock I didn't think either of them were as effective as when it was just one or two of those guys getting the majority of the snaps.
Georgia Tech game aside, the decision not to redshirt David Wilson in 2010 was a terrible one.
Also the NC State game.
But how so? He would've probably left after the 2011 season in either case and I don't recall him taking too many carries away from Ryan Williams or Darren Evans.
Agreed. If you have a running back who you think has a shot to be a future 1-3rd rd pick (Wilson, currently Shai if he's healthy) at the next level and is mentally/physically ready to play, red-shirting should not be in consideration. Their shelf life is just too short. As a program, you risk only having them eligible to play for two years.
I'm also interested in hearing your reasoning on this because, as I recall, he was both productive for the snaps he was getting and his presence was very helpful when RMFW went down with the hamstring. Additionally, as said above, he would have likely left after 2011 regardless, without the redshirt we got him for three years instead of two.
Call me crazy but I am not willing to call our running game back until I see these kids on the field against real college competition, despite the fact that they are 20 star recruiticorns. I can understand the optimism and hope as it is the pre-season but we should probably temper expectations for 3 or 4 games until we see what our team can do...
Maybe he uses the Cory Johnson weight loss method:
Regardless of weight, if I were a linebacker, I would not want to meet Juice in a hole. The dude is like a freight train.
