Now that he is healthy, Ken hopes to repay the coaching staff for their faith in him. With a thin defensive line, hokienation is hoping that he can finally stay healthy for the football season.

Ekanem has maintained a long-distance relationship with his father, who lives in Nigeria, since he was 11 years old. Ime Ekanem has seen Ken play football only a few times but will be in the stands for Virginia Techs first three games this year, temporarily halting a campaign to become governor of the southern Nigerian state of Akwa Ibom.

that's pretty interesting

Interesting, and can you imagine the level Ekanem is going to play to with his father in the stands watching? If it's first three games, not just home games...anOSU better watch out for him. His name will get called A LOT!

Love that ink. It may not be "staring down the barrel of a gun" quality, but it IS the Post, which will always be a huge presence in a huge recruiting hotbed for us. It sure puts our VT staff in a good, and honest (and repetitively verifiable) good light.
I like the article so much that I'm thinking about putting in a requisition for a half dozen fruit rollups from our staff bagman to grease the skids up there on 15th Street.
I would have rather kept it all hush-hush, but...yes, IMO, keeping the Post onboard is that important, folks. We need to get on this stat.

A picture is worth a thousand words. A gif is worth a million.

Thanks for the link. It's impressive to read about his performance on the field and interesting to see in hindsight how the recruiting played out. But what really stands out to me is his maturity and character. This article gives us tremendous insight into his mental toughness and discipline. Good for us to land him...great for him to finally break through. Here's to hoping for a clean bill of health! Get'm Kenny.

If it ain't orange, it better be maroon...and if it ain't maroon, it better be soon!

I see how all the top schools (except for Tech) walked away from Ken once he got hurt. Tech did the same for Shai, Ken, Holland, and other recruits. Tech is the best place for recruits. Injuries happen in football and VT will stick with you no matter what.
