OSU tonight is hosting a movie night in the Shoe, showing Frozen on the jumbo scoreboard. Seems like a great way to engage younger fans and raise some money for school charities.

Yeah, my girls would love that.
That's the way to keep the brand growing. Have friends there tonight, they had Brutus, cheerleaders, band members and sign up sheets for parents to join the boosters.
But they're in a pretty big city. It's tough to do that in a place like Blacksburg.
I see what you're saying but I think of it a little different, especially since my recent move from Philadephia to Dothan, AL. In Philly and presumably Columbus (I have never been) there are a million things to do. It's a major city and you can find something to do no matter what.
In a small town such Dothan and Blacksburg, while there may not be as many people, the town serves as an epicenter for the entire region. Do you need to fill out Lane? No. But if you made Lane and Blacksburg a hub for the region and engage the community that way I think it would be such a great thing.
Dothan isn't by my definition a "city" but it has at least 75-85% of what I could find in a major metropolitan area. It serves as the major shopping, healthcare, and cultural hub for LA (Lower Alabama (I don't come up with this stuff)), Southwest GA, and parts of Northwest/north central FL. I've been told come Christmas time this tiny little "city" is going to be jam packed with people because all of the shopping and what not is located here.
This damn town just needs a Chipotle.
Dothan was a hot bed of territorial pro wrestling in the 70's and 80's.
I am pretty sure we made fun of UVA doing the same few years ago. So no.
Thats because more people showed up for the movie than the game the next day
They're trying to train LOLUVA fans.
First, they put up the movie on Friday night.
Then, the next week, they play one on Saturday morning.
Then, in the third week, they play it on Saturday afternoon.
Then, in week 4, they play it at the same time as a football game.
Then, finally, in week 5, they start the movie at the start of the football game, then slowly move the screen out of the way so that no one notices it was taken away, revealing the football game behind it. A few more weeks of this and some Carrutherses will just show up at Lame Stadium right around the same time the football is being played.
FROZEN IS AWESOME
We have a pep rally for the freshman with free burgers and stuff. They all walk through the tunnel touch the hokie stone and then are introduced to the fall sports teams. I know I enjoyed it my freshman year....way more than watching frozen....besides we got to watch a movie on the drill field if we wanted to
Yeah, I'm cool with us keeping the movie on the drillfield. That said, I'd love to see us do something special in Lane for the students at the beginning of the year.
I vote for putting BillDozer's power hour on the jumbotron.
LOL they do way more than watching Frozen for the freshman
This isn't for students, it's for kids, 4 year olds and up. It gets the next generation of Hokies started. It also serves as a charity fundraiser for the school. They also serve food for the adults and engage them for booster support.
Let's hope Disney-movie-mojo taints their field, as we bring a dose of EnterSandman whoopass.
I hope they show Bambi the night before we play them.
weren't we making fun of LOLuva for doing just this?
No, we were making fun of the fact that Frozen would have a bigger crowd than any of their home games this year.
ah, I see. Consider me educated.
this is one of the better honest trailers i have seen. good points, all around.
They showed Despicable Me on the new hokievision last year (I drove by it and did a double take), but I think they were just testing it out.
