I thought that ESPN was just going to be interviewing David Wilson today on NFL Live. Instead, he is sitting in on the desk right next to Herm Edwards, etc. They are asking David what he expects out of various preseason games tonight. Clearly, they are giving him a chance to try out his chops as an analyst/commentator. I think that he has a future!

Fantastic! Would love to see him do well, deserves a break after all his bad luck.
NFL Live just finished a one-on-one segment with David about his career and how he has managed to deal so well with the abrupt end to it. He was both articulate and heartfelt in his responses. They even showed David's top NFL plays. You can tell that David is a little nervous (can't sit still--doesn't that seem like David Wilson!), but they have told him twice that he is doing a great job. When he was asked what he wants to do next, he had this sly grin and said that maybe he was doing it, and then pushed for that possibility. You really get the sense that ESPN is giving him the chance to make a case for his next job. He is continuing to break down plays and players throughout the hour. Too bad that this NFL Live won't be repeated later today for more to see.
If David becomes an NFL commentator, I might actually tune in just for NFL Live. No need to see games.

A well spoken, charismatic young man with a 1,000 watt smile and a high football IQ. He is a natural. Forget getting his feet wet and waiting behind some old pro who talks about how the game was back in the 90's 'when-I-played'. Sign the kid up and thank me later, ESPN.
