We are granted 15 additional practices for the bowl season as we all know. My question is for the teams that are bowl eligible but not in the championship games (us this year), do they practice during this week? It would be like a week of spring practice or camp since there is no team to gameplan for and the scout team can't mimic the opponent. Does anyone know the answer to this?

Isn't this technically a bye week?
You're right, there's always a gap week that serves as a bye between the last week of regular season play and conference championships.
I was thinking of the Big 12 teams playing this week. They would have had an extra bye during the season.
Technically, we could be passed over for a bowl. There are more ACC teams than slots. If FSU fell out of the CFP, there are two more ACC teams than slots.
We are bowl eligible but not a bowl team until Sunday.
And last I heard something like 79 teams for 76 spots at the moment, I believe those were the numbers. And Temple is playing to become eligible this weekend.
This weekend is still part of the season, so I'm not sure how they view it, but I don't believe it would count against our 15 days.
I'd wager that the coaches have told the team to focus on class and do conditioning/strength training/recover from injury.
Just a little thing called FINALS coming up.
Precisely my point.
Great question. I assume you have to be announced for a bowl game before any practices can take place.
