If anyone is in the area today and has some free time, come by the Cassell and support the Special Olympic teams. These kids put in a lot of hard work and deserve the same support and respect. JJ and the entire basketball team will be there, along with the HighTechs. Hope to see y'all there!

Couldn't't make it.
I need to find a way to know about this stuff further ahead of time.
I should have posted it earlier in the week. I wish there had been more publicity for it because I felt like a lot of people didn't know it was going on.
My thoughts exactly. Hopefully this is one area Whit can make a big improvement: getting the word out about different events like this.
I completely agree!
That is how it is every year. The only people that really show up are the organizations that are there "cheering" and the families of the participants.
Yes but, I have 2 young and impressionable little girls.
Seeing Mommie and Daddy out there cheering these kids on would counteract lots of years of mean teenagers and television.
I completely agree. A lot of the people that participate are local people and love the fact they can play in Cassell and interact with some of the athletes. Men's basketball usually shows up if they aren't on the road and Women's Soccer was there this year, which I think they are usually there as well. It's been a lot of fun being able to work this event the last three years.
