More good news! Welcome to Hokie Nation, Mook!
Today is awesome
The commits keep coming.....#DBU
I love all the CB commits but we better have room for Marcus Lewis if he wants to choose the good guys
Check out Ashton White's twitter feed. Not sure if coincidence but he says "wtf" and tells Marcus Lewis to text him.
Yea I seen that, Marcus loves VT. was supposed to visit today and didn't but rescheduled for march 8th. As far as Mook goes I cant seem to find a site where he has a ranking. I wanna know more about this kid
He will have a ranking in the next couple days probably.
Not sure if this is a coincidence also, but Ashton retweeted a tweet by a reporter saying he would take official visits including to Ohio State and will visit Maryland as well. Not sure if he planned to do so all along or if this is related to yesterdays tweets but I guess we can put Ashton in the same category as Mook as a "soft commit" as of now.
I'm as rapt as the next Hokie in regards to recruiting but IMO I don't think there is any reason to sweat recruits taking their visits. Hard, soft or flacid verbals all mean nothing until a kid signs his LOI. Until that time I think kids are going to fall into 2 categories. Ones that want to get recruiting done quickly and ones that want to enjoy the ride and possibly see what's on the other side of the fence. Either way they are non-committed until Feb 5.
The ones that want to be a Hokie will be and those are the ones I prefer play for VT. This is why I think situations like Brady Taylor are fine. He publicly wanted to play for OSU and when he got what he wanted he took it. Great for him. Would I have preferred he stayed with VT? Of course, but I support any 17/18 year old kid considering all their options and choosing what they feel is right for them.
(I realize this is not what you are really saying. Just stating my thoughts. +1 for the info which I appreciate a lot)
Mooooooooooook
I am damn excited to cheer this! It about time we had another player compatible with "OOOOOOOO"
Man, a great day in February for the Hokies! It looks smart to have an earlier Jr. Day! Is there a limit on the number of Jr days as I really think we need the Spring and July events too.We need the NEW INDOOR facility up SOON too and the best possible one out there even if we have to beg for more money. Whit?
I hope this pushes Marcus to re-think his decision, but I want him to be sure. Heck, they are now saying Mook is not 100% sure. Please don't commit if you are not 100% sure as all that flipping this year was way out of hand. We had 1, but as good as FSU is, they had around 4 I think, as well as some sure things go elsewhere on NSD, which is poetic justice! ;)
Of course, they are going after more recruits and I'm not so sure we shouldn't. I think Beamer may sell us short as it seems, we can get some long distance kids. Look at BB, JJ got Ben out of Texas and one from Arizona I think. I know BB is a little different but as far as the brand name now, maybe not! We got mad and pulled out of Fl. years ago after another decommitt. But look what's happened the lately, Maddy, Dadi, and Ford this year with a real close shot at Harrison. If FSU don't lose some of their A board, they wouldn't have come in so late after Harrison. I didn't even mention the older ones like Clowney, Flowers, Hosely, etc. Biggest one was Gray because he came back to be an awesome coach and recruiter! Where was Midget from? He's coaching now and pulled a couple out of Fl. Who else did I miss? :) My point is we should not sell ourselves short and just regionally recruit. I'm surprised we didn't offer the kid from Fayetteville that was a DL/OL that FSU picked up. He had a great offer list and that actually is not that far from us and we had the RB from there, who had the bad knee who we stuck with and others gave up on. He didn't get back to his best but VaTech was good to him. We have a darn good reputation as well, so rise up Coach Beamer, send these new coaches out after the best players, that are also good students and of good chracter that want to work hard to be part of the Hokie FB team and family!
Sorry, I was getting a little excited and went overboard somewhat, huh? :)
I just finished watching ALL IS LOST with Robert Redford. IMO, it was just decent but the sweetheart loved it and of course argued with me on the end's meaning. But, he didn't give in against all odds and even after missing the boats. :( Of course, I'm torn on the ending and what really happened.
But I'm sure we under sell the VT brand in FB! It's a rising and with Bristol, we have extra to sell. Heck, look what London pitches and some of those 757 guys fall for it. If we'd offered Cutler, back then the experts were saying he'd taking our offer in a heartbeat. Hmmm.....
The End.
I'm new here, but old in years. If that was too long, please delete and I will do better, I promise.
Give me a pass for being a 3 day newbie, ok?
Wait til some of you get old, things tend to be too long as your thought processes move all over the place.
Yes, even what some of you i know are thinking. We have to think about past or that hockey player that was pictured on here.
So sorry! Please don't take my turkey leg away!
I will edit it to shorten it. :)
follow me here... Mook - Moo - Cow - Cow on a Treadmil?
in the meantime...
I have a bad feeling a cow on a treadmill would just fall off. Here's to hoping that duck grows up into the world first real hokie bird.
Is this the opening for a bad infomercial? The black and white just reminds me of things like this:
For example:
"Not chopping enough wood?"

"Try the Aaron Moorehead approved WOOD CHOPPER 9000!!!"
Dang, I want one of those for getting my firewood for the winter.
Best to get those early commitments and get some excitement out there amongst the prospects. Other recruits are often our best recruiters.
