Oklahoma Gave Me Hope

That a freshman qb can come in and perform if the situation is right. That kid was lights out last night. Id be ecstatic if Ford or Durkin turn out to perform like that. Gives me something to look forward to in spring to see what is gonna transpire

Rational reaction: He's a r-Fr for starters, and even Hackenberg was the #1 QB recruit out of high school last year

Real reaction: HECK YEAH! LET'S HACKENBERG/KNIGHT THAT JUNK! FORD/DURKIN 2014 WOOOO!!!! GO HOKIES!

Yea he was a R/freshman. But he has missed most of the season from what I gathered with injuries or either he was playing hurt a lot. They said he was finally healthy for the game last night and really showed out. I just hope Ford being here early will help get him on the field faster.

Also Alabama's defense is not that good...plain and simple. Oklahoma is about 37x better then the hokies...were a disaster

Solid analysis right here.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

thanks....I mean I don't really believe that...but credit is due to Stoops only coach to win every BCS game. Hokies are killing me man I need a good year next year

Lets not forget that OU played flawless special teams, routinely stopping the returner inside or around the 20. And did not give up 2 TD's.

Their QB played the game of his life. THrowing into tight windows, dropping it over Dbs heads, and throwing perfectly timed RB screens (not WR bubble screens) which kept Bama's defense from being too aggresive. And his protection was solid all night.

Careful, I think you just made Stiney drool a bit when you mentioned bubble screens....

Ha!

Insert picture of Steiney's face "Did someone say BUBBLE SCREENS!!"

idk Christian jones had some good returns last night

I did not watch every kick return, but the only one I saw came after the 15 yard penalty. Guess the refs said they saw a throat slash gesture after the TD.

The Dude Abides

it was borderline...it was kind of a mixture of a double throat slash and a 'superman' type of gesture...I think the kid WAS doing the throat slash but was trying to cleverly cloak it as a subtle 'superman' gesture and the refs flagged him for it. They showed a shot of him on the sidelines after they made the call and he didn't seem to contest the call so it was probably the right call by the refs.

In any event, it was wise for the refs to jump on that type of action quickly and send a message to the players to prevent any kind of escalation.

Onward and upward

Totally agree. OU was hyped. Their players were jumping around to House of Pain, and right before the half after they came up with a sack on 3rd down the guy ripped his helmet off to celebrate. Almost cost them 15 yards. At least you can say they were in the game.

If you really want hope, how about Alabama's freshman RB just steamrolling people.

The Dude Abides

That rb, has the national record for rush yards. Had over 12,000 rush yards in high school. They said he had almost 50 consecutive 100 yard games. That kid is a monster and a tank and he just took Yeldons job. Yeldon fumbles too much

One time too many for Saben that game for sure
