Really good article that tells how Kam watches how Sean played the game and tackled correctly while also having big legal hits. Two class acts, I have no doubt that if Sean were still alive (RIP) he and Kam would be the two biggest hitters in the NFL.

Not sure how old you are or what you actually remember about Sean Taylor, but he was NOT a class act. Ask anybody who isnt a redskin fan. He was indeed a hard hitter but was not a class act.
Taylor was a huge hitter but this is correct. Definitely not a class act. But I think Kam is going more for on the field performance.
What I've been saying for the last 10 years. And who the hell decks the PUNTER in the PRO BOWL!
For the Steelers Fan:
I've seen that before. I don't think comparing freshman year as a gunner to hitting a punter in the pro bowl is the best argument.
I disagree there. The kid returning the punt was defenseless and an amateur athlete. The punter in the pro bowl was both not defenseless and he was a professional. I don't know what else the punter was expecting.
In a regular season game I'd agree with you, but in the Pro Bowl?
Anyway, it's not important at this point. You're a Redskins fan who's going to defend his players and I'm a person who hates the Redskins and will do the exact opposite.
But you seem to know alot about how they are played. Color me confused. Someone got hurt in this year's probowl. By his own teammate. Same old dialogue, new year. Guy who got hurt didn't bear animosity, but alot of fans did. Some strap em on with the pads, others think two hand touch is played in pads. You're stupid if you think you can't get lit up or hurt in the game.
Sorry I'm not a Redskins fan but that was not classless. If the point of the game is to not try and dance around then fucking not try and dance around. Don't try and get a first on a fake punt. What would be classless is trying to show everyone up when everyone knows no one is even bothering to try.
I've always been a Skins fan and I have to agree. HUGE hitter, not a classy guy. I remember when he spit in the face of a Bucs player in the playoffs. Taylor was a big time hitter and an even bigger intimidator. I bet he made more than a few WRs crap their pants in his day.
The best part of that is the in-game audio of the ref (I think it was Mike Carey) telling the other refs why he's calling Taylor for the penalty when Pittman clearly took a swing at him. Carey's response was something along the lines of "If someone did that to me then I would have done more than just throw a punch at him".
Exactly. I don't blame the guy either. It was pretty trashy.
My first reaction was that Taylor said something about his mother.
Say what? All the Redskins fans that I know have only good things to say about Taylor.
I think you missed a key word:
Doh.
And may he (Taylor) rest in peace.
Am I missing something..? Who levels the punter in the pro-bowel? And why would anyone hold that up as somehting to aspire to? Hopefully THAT hit isn't what Kam is impressed with.
lol pro-bowel
was wondering if anyone noticed that.
Nothing wrong with remembering the best about someone. If the end result is that it makes you a better person and a better player, I'm all for using whatever tools you have available.
Watching the Pro Bowl hit, I still have no idea what everyone's upset with. Moorman had the ball, he was running and Sean got a good solid hit on the ballcarrier. Moorman only showed why he is a punter, not a running back. Was it a violent hit? YEP. In a game of the best players vs the best players, I don't see why it would be surprising that someone is playing at full effort. He didn't go at the knees or helmet to helmet. Sean put his shoulder/arm in Moorman's chest and knocked him on his ass!
If Kam wants to hit like Sean, that's cool with me!
I think the problem is that you're not really supposed to play during the Pro Bowl. Just kinda lackadaisically run around because you're thinking about what you'll be doing afterwards on your Hawaiian vacation.
IMO, leveling the punter during the pro-bowl is like tackling someone during walk-throughs. You probably shouldn't be that guy.
But whatever.
The guy was faking a punt running for a first down. Someone has that responsibility. The punter was taking his responsibility seriously. His coach seemed to be taking it seriously.
But Taylor who may have had responsibility for the fake punt. He should shirk his responsibility and take no pride in not letting the first down happen.
Perfectly logical.
Punter got up Taylor hit him like a gentleman despite the punter and his coach trying to show him up. Have no idea what the hell you people think football or life for that matter is all about. You gotta turn it on and you gotta be able to turn it off. It wasn't a cocktail party. Lotsa folks have it turned on for tackle football. Maybe ST didn't get the no pads just tutus memo.
And that's why the pro bowl is on the chopping block. Because it's professional football where the best guys in the world are on the team, and no one thinks they actually have to try. Who wants to watch that crap?
I like one guy because he went to VT. I don't like the other guy, because he went to DA U.
I stopped caring about anything else after that.
Yeah it's amazing how post mordum we look back and are like...well he is/was a great guy cause he passed untimely.
The dude was a straight up asshole. When he played for the U, there was a reason we played harder, he was one of them. Ask any Hokie of that time period, the swagger was strong in that one.
I'd rather see him model his game, both on and off the field, after this guy.
On the field during play, sure. His pregame stuff (saw it more with the Eagles than later in his career) was a little over the top. I don't really care to see Kam flailing around before games.

im feeling a good amount of hate for taylor here. say what you want about the guy but he was a helluva football player. additionally all the people around him also said that he really matured and grew up when his daughter was born
Nice how so many want to crap on the reputation of a kid who died at 24. Over a pro bowl hit on a punter that was showing him up? Over a clean hit that the punter popped right back up from? With all the temptation etc that goes along with going to da U, and the NFL lifestyle. God have mercy on my soul in general, but if I had died at 24, I would have needed alot more than mercy.
If you feel bad for him then that's fine, it's a free country and it's not important enough of an issue for me to really care at all. But I'm not shedding any tears. I feel bad for his daughter and his girlfriend (I don't think they were married yet), but I'm not gonna act like he was a model citizen.
edit - yeah, nevermind
No, but I'm not gonna shed any tears about it. Did I say "he deserved to die" anywhere?
Not a model citizen? Huh? Taylor was a thug at SCUM and was a thug as a pro. The canonization by Snyder and the skins fans bordered on both the ridiculous and the sublime.
Ugh... Snyder is a parasite.
Worst. Owner. Evah.
Makes me sad when I think about how much I used to enjoy the Redskins.
No, he wasn't a model citizen, but by all accounts (and that's all we can go on, I doubt any of us actually knew the man), when his son was born he tried to settle down, move in with his girlfriend and tried to raise his son right, the best he could. I don't approve of how he was before that, but I respect a man for realizing that he shouldn't act like that and tries to do the best he could for his family.
Btw, who stepped in for KC at the pro bowel (sorry, couldn't resist).
Looks like Eric Reid replaced Chancellor.
