It seems like Drew Harris has found a college. After spending two years at a Junior College, he signed with UMass. Hopefully, he has put his academic setbacks behind him. Good luck to Drew!

Wait, does this mean he's not coming to Blacksburg?
I think so. Tech has a solid group of RB now. With an improved O-line, the running game will get better.
but...but...but he's still coming to tech right???

At least he'll be getting an education. Best of luck to him.
What a shame. I think he could have been a stud for us. Best of luck to him.

Who Harris?
Good for him.
Sucks he never made it here, but glad to see he's able to move on and I hope he's able to get a good education out of this and he's able to go on to better things.
At least we can officially put the "is he coming here" stuff to bed.
Somebody on here will be sure to bring it up again in a few years
Yeah, wish it could've worked out for him and VT. Just glad he caught on somewhere. Hope he can make enough noise to get a combine invite.
I hope he get on the right track as a student but I don't see much reason to wish for him to get a combine invite over any other deserving college athlete.
I bet you just rock at Secret Santa.
I heard he'll be completing his undergrad in 3 years so he can transfer to us as a graduate student #sarcastica
IMO, he was the best RB recruit for VT since David Wilson. Before the injury anyway...
I doubt he was the best recruit since Wilson. Shai and Marshawn Williams are not only good RB but good students who took care of academics and enrolled early. Ill take them over Drew Harris any day.
I doubt that his scholastic abilities have any relevance to what I said...
Thats the 2nd player we have lost to UMASS....Both cases involved not qualifying academically.

Congrats to the man, he went a different route but the biggest thing is he got his life/academics back together and got into a Div 1 school. As a fan it hurts but as a human being its great to see someone like this strive to continue his dream.
Agreed. And I'm also happy that he got into a D1 school that isn't on our future schedule.
Sh-t. F-k
It's not showing up (at least on my iPad).
Hopefully this also puts to rest the misconception that VT staff was somehow at fault for Harris' eligibility (considering he didn't enroll at any of the other schools he had previously mentioned and it took 2 years of prep to get him enrolled at a university).
VT staff was never at fault. It worked out fine for Holland Fisher.
im just glad he didnt end up going to FSU at some point he commited to them after not being able to get into VT would have hated having to play against him in ACC championships and watching him run shop on the ACC knowing he should have been doing it for us.
