Hey Mel Kiper...

A brilliant idea! He has the size, the speed, the strength. Why has no one thought of this before?!?
Not meant toward you Andy, since you are just doing your job, but I can't wait until the draft is over and I never have to hear Logan or tight end mentioned again on this site.
You think that will end it? Until he actually plays tight end, someone will bring it up. And even after that, people will gloat about it and pontificate about what might have been if he had been one at VT.
I think the only hope we may have is if he wins every Super Bowl and MVP every year that he plays at QB.
And some people may say "they would have won by more if he was a TE"
Don't kill my dreams Andy
HA! Dont hold your breath.
Until the preseason games, depending on how he plays. And then it'll come up in the regular season when a team inevitably uses him as a receiver in a package. This wont end until he's a starting QB.
and even then. . .
Seems to me like the analysts at ESPN just want to crush VT and our football team. As if we didn't hear enough about this all year, during our bowl game, our whole team was walk ons.. and all that extra BS.
How is this crushing? Do you think Logan playing TE in the NFL would damage VT?
its just disrespectful.. and rude to be honest. its another story that ESPN can make. Watch when he gets drafted I bet they ask him if he's going to play QB or TE. Even better I bet the commentary when he gets drafted will mention the word TE before QB
I don't see how it is disrespectful. And I don't get why so many Hokie faithful are hellbent on Logan being QB in the NFL. What if he is 10-year probowl TE? Is that really bad? Antwaan Randle El, Ronald Curry, Randall Cobb, Julian Edelman, Josh Cribbs, and Brian Mitchell is some pretty good company.
It's a simple fact, if Logan is going to succeed as an NFL level QB, he'll need to get his pass percentage up about 10% and his TD/INT ratio up a point. Maybe he'll do that. Maybe not. And if he doesn't, what's the harm switching positions?
Agree. Not disrespectful or rude. Just factual, he can play either position. Also good business sense when you will sign hundreds if not millions of dollars to him to ask about.
Agree. His athletic potential is going to get him drafted. He is going to get a shot at QB most likely and then the Tebow line, are you willing to try something else if it doesn't work. The question is he enough smarter than Tebow to answer YES!
No I agree, but let the kid get a chance at QB first and then start talking about the TE move. It just seems like they're trying to downplay his potential at a QB first. But I agree he needs to work on completion rating and his INT/TD ratio. But if you want to pick at numbers I bet his completion % would be up 10-15% if we had a go to receiver that could catch the ball with his hands.
ESPN was giving our defense a lot of love in the beginning of the season (pre-Fuller injury)
Heck Logan could go into the Jets and start right away, or the Bills.
Or Cleveland! I mean, can he be any worse than Brandon weedon?
you mean Brandon Wedone?
Been able to use this one a lot lately. Hey Mel, kindly

You could always mix it up a bit and go with Universe 1 Bender:
I was reserving that one for a more meaningful occasion. Kiper's drunk ass ramblings aren't worth it.
This episode was on Comedy Central tonight. One of my favorites.
Mel Kiper must have trolled the "LT for TE" boards on TKP.....
Future Stories, circa 2030.
"Super Bowl Winning QB Logan Thomas Retires"
"Some Disappointed Thomas Never Played Tight End"
"Rumors Thomas Mulling Coming Out of Retirement to Play TE"
Drew Harris qualifies
and UVA wins the National Championship.... sh** no one says hahahah
Let's keep it realistic, shall we?
Good thing you qualified that, you might get a lot of down votes and get fuzzed out!
I really don't want to see this in print...
Well, JC didn't specify the activity. It's entirely possible that UVA will win some national championships, in the following:
1. Brie eating
2. Zima drinking
3. Complaining about why no one thinks they're relevant
4. Crying after VT football games
Which comes first?
Drew Harris enrolling or Logan Thomas TE talk subsiding??
The sun will expand into a red giant, and swallow the Earth first. So...at least not for another 5.4 billion years?
Are you saying we might be getting a Zombie LT as TE? Because that would be awesome.
Do people really think LT can be a top starter in the NFL? He could be, but he could also fall anywhere in the range of from Ryan Leaf to a Ryan Tannahill. Its a crap shoot.
So far LT is beating Ryan Leaf because he's not a shit of a human being.
The article mentions Tebow and says it LT is not like that because Thomas played the position and would not be a project. I think Tebow would have been just fine playing TE in college if he wasn't busy winning national titles at QB. Give the guy some credit, he was a dynamic offensive college player.
Actually, nothing Mel Kiper says in that article is offensive or incorrect. He says Logan will get his shot at QB. He says he could convert to TE if he doesn't show improvement.
Most players would be out of the league if they don't show improvement. At least Logan has something to fall back on...a backup plan.
He also said that Logan didn't have alot of help on offense...all true.
Now...lets get back to the topic of Bucky Hodges converting to QB...
Nothing Mel Kiper says in that article is incorrect?
Kiper, like many who have pounded the Thomas-as-a-tight-end drum over the years, overstated Thomas' history at the position, saying he "played that position in high school."
And "overstated" is an understatement. "Incorrectly stated" would be accurate.
