^^^ 1985 Hokie's comment should break the all time Turkey Leg record on this site. But will it? Look the man up (Bol), sit back, and meditate on your OWN state of affairs. You will become a better person for it. I wish 85' could get more legs from me.

I don't know about this guy. He might be an ok college player since he's so tall but he doesn't seem very athletic. I watched his highlight tape and was not impressed at all.

He'll attract so much double teams and attention it will open lanes and shots for other players. I mean imagine 3 7 footers on the same team (JVZ, Pierce, and of course Tacko) with the amount of talented guards we have as well. Scary thought for opposing teams.

True -- His footwork is sorely lacking, and there's not enough shooting footage.
But, to be fair, that's pretty typical of big men. Roy Hibbert couldn't even do a single pushup or squat as a freshman at Georgetown --
Cut to 2004, Hibberts first year at Georgetown. In an early fall workout, Hibbert lay prostrate in the weight room, watched by strength coach Mike Hill. Hed hit the ground to bang out a few push-ups, but a problem soon became clear: Hibbert couldnt do one. So while womens soccer and lacrosse players looked on, Hill straddled the freshman big man, reached down, and grabbed him by the sides, pulling him up and pushing him down while Hibbert struggled to pitch in. It was humiliating, Hibbert says. All these girls are watching they can do push-ups but I cant. Not only could Hibbert not do a push-up, he couldnt bend his knees enough to do a single squat, even without holding weights.
I remember watching him play in the NIT that same season when they played Cal State Fullerton in the old Georgetown field house. He was absolutely awful. He came on the court and the student section started chanting about his mom (in a good way). Him getting in was truly a joke to them. I think he had 3 fouls within a few minutes.
Just goes to show how good coaching can turn some of these guys around.

We laugh, but hell... With the immediate transformation that we're seeing with VT basketball right now, would it really be out of the realm of possibility for us to grab an eye opener like this, if only to sit on the bench? (and believe me, if we can get someone like this and he can survive Buzz's Boot Camp, there's no way in hell he ends up riding the bench)
Still amazed we got Allen this weekend. Still amazed we went up head to head with UVa and beat em for a guy that they really wanted. And this is with them coming off winning the freakin conference and getting a 1-seed. Buzz has got momentum in spades right now, and it only seems to be picking up. The talent difference you are going to see this next season compared to this past season is going to make your head spin. These are VERY exciting times for Hokie Sports, and its kinda awesome to be a part of.

John Salley?
Damn it, now I want tacos.
Sweet baby Jesus!
Here's his basketball mixtape.
Holy. The basketball looks like a damn tangerine in his hands.
Ah you beat me to it. My thought exactly.
I've never seen a basketball look so tiny in someone's hands. Ridiculous.
He's going to be quite popular with the ladies. Does he play TE by any chance?
ISWYDT...Leg for you, sir
Reminds me of The Sudanese Swatter:

Manute Bol- what a great person... read about his life.

I'm trying but he keeps blocking my Turkey Leg attempts
Thank you Griffer- he was an inspiration.
One of my favorite hockey players.
And jockeys.
That's a great shot of him and HOAT.
Guy is crazy tall. He jumped on and his feet touched the ground.
Link?

He's got a 4.0 GPA, though, so in the very least he'd be an asset to Tech's athlete-academic stats.

Seems like a good kid and player. Hope Buzz and company take a look at him.
I've seen those glasses before

He's almost as tall as Bucky Hodges.
