Andy: Thanks for the objective look at the program. Objectivity isn't exactly the strong suit of fans. Losing sucks for us.

But I'm sure it sucks much worse for the coaches & players.

I'm in it for the long haul. I've got to believe that once we get some cohesive coaching on our O-line for a couple seasons in a row, a lot of the groan-inducing plays on offense we are witnessing and have become accustomed to turn into repeatable production and points on the board.

And so far as the D goes, I think we are seeing a combination of key players out of the lineup, particularly Facyon and Williams, are accountable for some of the key big plays against us.

I love me some Chuck Clark, but I see him as more of a safety than a pure CB. I think his tackling skills are bordering on elite, but his coverage skills are average to good, and it's hard to make a big hit if you get turned around in coverage.

Motuapuaka (can we have a nickname already -- I don't know how to spell it), is going to be a beast. But his inexperience was directly accountable for several big plays the last couple weeks.

It would be great to have depth to just plug in and see little dropoff, but in Bud's defenses, nothing, absolutely nothing, beats game reps for baking those assignments in, so that players' minds aren't tying up their feet. Shedding blocks is far easier if you are hitting the gap you're supposed to, and the alignment sheds them before they get to you.

Until we start having the type of success that allows our backup players to get more game-snaps, we are going to be stuck with this kind of dropoff.

It's a vicious circle, but if we can just start scoring some points reliably, all these problems start working themselves out in a hurry.

Believe you mean Maddy?

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Loeffler is saying we're not set up to succeed through the air, but if that's what's working, why not go with it? The holes are not there for the run game - our backs are getting bounced around like a pinball as they try and squeeze through tight spaces.

"I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them. So I'm going with God. I'm going with Virginia Tech." - L. Corso

Considering Brewer's throwing more than just about any QB in Tech history, I think Lefty has figured out what's working and what isn't. And if he's throwing it all over the place with a team that isn't set up to succeed through the air.... that might tell you all you need to know about the state of the offense right there. Gonna take a lot of work to get this thing right.

Anybody know the VT record for number of yards receiving by a fullback?
I think we might be inching up on that.

Rogers has 195 with 70 of that last game.
Ave 10.8/ catch.

This is going to be great for the ACC.
