Sure hope he is fully recovered & has a great game Saturday . He is the consummate team player and a leader of this team. After what he has been through and the work he has put in to recover he deserves great respect from everyone. Would be wonderful to see the OLD Trey!!

If nothing else -- if Lefty never pans out as OC -- I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hear a guy take responsibility and say things that indicate he knows what went wrong other than "a missed assignment away from 3 more scores".
I was so tired of hearing that over and over again in years past:. "Execution problems". Dumping all the responsibility on the players, as if they should win every single individual battle, regardless of what the D is doing.
Here, Loeffler could have said that. Certainly there were execution problems in that first half. But it is the job of the opposing DC to schematically increase the chances for the offense to make those mistakes.
And it is the job of the OC to recognize what the D is doing, and make the adjustments that allow his offense to perform with less chance of making mistakes.
To hear Loeffler admit to making mistakes is reassuring. Yeah, we'd love him to be 100% all the time. But the ability to see and admit where you screwed up is probably the most important factor in being able to change and improve.
That ability was in short supply for a long time..
When a coach can shoulder some of that responsibility, you have to believe it makes players want to be better.

Great point, he definitely took the responsibility for much of the 1st half offensive issues in that interview (i.e., "...4 or 5 things..."). The players have to love that and feel that they have a connection with him. This is the kind of thing that builds team camaraderie and trust.
I really like Lefty's attitude, the rest of the season will be interesting in the team growth department.

I remember an earlier comment in an interview with Michael Brewer that Lefty none night went and worked out at 2 AM while still at VT working - I think Brewer said something like: "...he's just wired differently...".

Loeffler looks like he has a new baby at home.
