Meta: Has anyone used the email button?

I'm talking about the one next to the Twitter, Facebook and G+ buttons right below.

When did that make an appearance? Who does the email go to?
(That would be a negative...)

@VTnerf on insta, @BuryHokie on twitter, #ThanksFrank

Nope. Also never used the G+ button. FWIW, the default subject line looks a bit spammy, but I realize there's very little that can serve as a default subject without looking that way...

"Exit light..."

I have not but, I will starting today.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

No, but i assume it would like this:
FWD: FWD: FWD: 10 LOLUVA gifs that will restore your faith in humanity

HOKIE HOKIE HOKIE HI

lol

"I'm high on Juice and ready to stick it in!" Whit Babcock

I barely have enough dork magic to post on the boards, using special buttons would be way beyond my computer machine skillz...

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

I want to know who shared this on their g+ account.

Paul Chryst.

"Exit light..."

If I had to guess, it was probably shared on the TKP Google+ page.

A couple of observations on these "social/share" buttons. My OCD'ish tendencies are getting the best of me:

#1 The length of the bars vary (probably due to the number of characters taken up in the counter). This is easier to see when in a mobile browser as they are stacked instead of side by side:

#2 "g+" is the only one that does not have any text next to it

#3 "g+" ALWAYS starts with a +1, while the rest only count the actual shares (I presume).

I did NOT check the date of this thread before responding ..... nevertheless,

when I hit the email button, the "to:" field in the email client is empty

here's the string - mailto:?subject=Read%20this%20great%20article%20on%20The%20Key%20Play&body=Meta:%20Has%20anyone%20used%20the%20email%20button?:%20http://www.thekeyplay.com/content/2014/october/16/meta-has-anyone-used-e...

Probably because Joe has no way to psychically predict who you're trying to email :)

"Exit light..."

riiiiight .... I was thinking this would automatically email Joe - feedback as opposed to share - I'll get more coffee now and step back from the keyboard.

The idea is you could email friends, Hokies, non-TKPers articles you enjoyed. Because we are an independent website, word of mouth and viral growth are crucial to our sustainability.
