Hearing Coach Loeffler say, "We don't know why these penalties are occurring" is very frustrating to hear. I believe him when he says that things are gonna take off as soon as we start becoming more consistent. Obviously the coaches do this for a living, but it seems to me that shuffling the oline is not suddenly going to fix the problem. I don't think these penalties are happening because of lack of effort. Maybe it's a technical issue with the cadence (although Loeffler said he had simplified it as much as he ever had). I don't think it's a youth thing either! It seems underclassmen and upperclassmen alike are twiching, jumping, moving on that Oline! This one can't be blamed on youth!

The coaching staff has to try something different. The current system is not working. Penalties are killing the team. Wyatt teller is promising O-lineman so let him start and see what he can do .
Your tits. Calm them.
TechHokie13's power levels!

I think the "O-line Shuffling" was an attempt to mitigate the penalties and inconsistent play. Farris had numerous mistakes against Pitt including a false start- not his first of the year. Wang showed that he was the better center and Teller has been a boost in horsepower.
I've been told repeatedly by some of the OL guys our cadence is so predictable that the defense picks up on it & yells it out directed at their own guys so they won't draw a penalty, hence all the false starts, I don't think we had that problem going with a silent count. These guys did'nt all of a sudden start jumping, false snapping, etc. for no reason. Maybe Leoffler over simplified the cadence, who knows.
I have heard that during the week, they practice their gameplan and the plays they plan to run specific to that defense plus the core set of plays and then come game time, Leoffler has been calling completely different plays that the team did not practice much during the week and the execution of those plays has been rough.
