Always respected VaTech program.
But I'm a longtime Metallica fan.
Use of "Enter Sandman" should stop until home dominance is restored.β Chris Fowler (@cbfowler) October 24, 2014
- This is a joke. A joke the normally witty ESPN personality and broadcaster faulted on.
- My response: no.
- Home dominance does need to be restored. 6-5 in Lane and 2-4 against Power 5 teams at home since 2012 isn't good enough.
I asked Mark to record Enter Sandman from the field, and Bill to grab the ESPN feed. I had no intention of publishing them after the whoopin' Miami put on Tech. I normally nix GIFTORY and victory-like posts after losses. However, these are awesome and made me have a feel about this football team. I was numb until tonight. Beamer Co. and the entire athletic department asked Hokie Nation to show up Thursday, and you did.

what chris fowler said is literally just a dick move. he's like beating on something/someone thats already down.
Figuratively a dick move. A literal dick move would be... well... use your imagination.
A literal dick move would have you now playing QB for the Seminoles
Oh I'm sorry Chris, DID WE ASK?
Not to be that guy, but I've heard numerous rumors that Fowler is a real jerk off the camera. Like one of the biggest jerks in TV, if not the biggest one
I dunno about that. I met all three of the main Gameday crew during the second visit in 2005. Granted, it wasn't too much talk, and I was getting them to sign a couple of footballs, and also gave each of them a coin from the HTs.
Corso is the crowd pleaser. He puts on a show. Herbstreit didn't seem to understand or care much outside of football. But Fowler was very interested in the coin and asked a bit about the band. Maybe he was just being nice, but he left the best impression.
I'm just gonna leave this here:
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/columns/story?id=2842707
Fowler made a joke, a poorly timed one because we're all smarting over a bad loss. His job is to drive conversation, and he's doing it. I will respond by joking back at him (see my post below) and nothing more.
I wish I would have remembered that article. I would have included it in my original post. I don't think Fowler, or anyone at ESPN has an agenda against Virginia Tech. I personally enjoy Chris' commentary. (His tennis coverage is exquisite.) I don't believe in SEC bias and get irked whenever I read eSECpn or a variation of it. ESPN, like any other well run business, is always going to promote its most profitable assets.
However, he's one of, if not the, top college football voice at ESPN. His being critical of the program carries weight. I 100% agreed with his underlying pointβTech stinks at home and it's not good enough. I also thought his joke was crappy and his point would've been more poignant without it.
I'm so happy someone else does too.
I think it can be fun to joke about, but anyone who truly believes their league could go toe to toe with the SEC is living on an Egyptian river boat. They're the best conference: ESPN's only bias is to cover the best teams
The SEC can be the best conference and still be the recipient of bias, those two things aren't mutually exclusive
I was more trying to say that, while there is "bias", it's deserved in the case of the SEC. I don't think there's some overarching conspiracy. ESPN is "biased" towards the best teams, and the most popular ones. For now, both those traits fall in the SEC.
Their TV programs aren't geared towards reporting every team equally, that would be silly
Isn't that kind of the definition of bias? I think there is an SEC bias. I think ESPN made a business decision to promote their most profitable asset..The SEC is the cash cow of NCAA Football. They are certainly biased towards the SEC...but deservedly so. They do it because they know they can make money off of that decision. There is a bias that has grown from the promotion of the SEC by ESPN. Yes, it's business...but it's also bias. I don't think it's an unfair bias in the sense that ESPN bigwigs didn't just wake up one day and pick a random conference to turn into the Goliath of football conferences....it helped that the SEC was actually stronger than most (if not all) other conferences.
I do believe it has snowballed though. The SEC was good before all of the promotion, but now it's almost unfair. Imagine all of these recruits seeing all of the exposure that these "big time SEC" schools get. Why wouldn't a 17-18 year old kid want to go somewhere in the SEC? According to everywhere you look the SEC is the dominant king of NCAA Football. If you want to be successful as a football player and you have the talent to go to an SEC school why the heck wouldn't you? It's not untrue. But the promotion of that message by ESPN has definitely influenced the success of the conference to some degree.
The SEC had the help of ESPN in becoming the monster that it is today. ESPN definitely knew what they were doing though. They jumped on the bandwagon early and they're reaping the benefits. A majority of the SEC schools/teams are in areas where there is relatively nothing else going on. There is a lot of money in the south and when the fans don't have anything else to live for than college football it's not that difficult to get their money. Someone who is probably very smart recognized this years ago and jumped on it. Well played, ESPN. Well played.
Fowler also believes that ESPN isn't in bed with the SEC so his opinion on anything is invalid.
(Quick source: http://247sports.com/Bolt/ESPNs-Fowler-responds-to-SEC-bias-criticism-32...)
I usually like Chris fowler but I know nothing abt him off camera. this really is just an asshole thing to say. I thought the crowd was incredible and no effing way should we stop enter sandman....ever. this just made me lose respect for him.
Yeah, the last thing we need is to lose the fans. If we can't win but can fill a bunch of seats that is a small victory in the big picture.
Wow, what great videos...it just depresses me to think what it could've been. Such a great atmosphere, but the game squandered it all. Oh well, I'll get over it eventually.
What a dick move by Chris, way to kick us when we're down.
Stuff it, Chris.
Always respected College Gameday program.
But I'm a longtime Rece Davis fan.
Use of Chris Fowler should stop until a normal ego level is restored.
Except before the Pitt game when Rece called us West Virginia.
I've blocked out most of the last two weeks of football.
***blacked out
FTFY
If only. Two straight Thursday nights with having to get up for work at 5 AM the following day...
The night before the Miami game Rece came and talked to the Sports Business Club. One of the most down to earth guys. Loves talking sports specifically college football and basketball. Really funny guy who was nice enough to spare us some time to answer questions about anything and everything.
From my perspective on the field, that Enter Sandman was probably the best I've witnessed in person. Shame that crowd was wasted on that game, they were ready.
I'm glad we captured it for y'all to enjoy. At 1AM after the game I watched the raw video for the first time and I swear it erased the jaded feeling I had for most of the night.
Nicely done, Mark. Thanks for capturing that moment.
that's an awesome video thanks for filming that. I just got chills watching it
That was extremely therapeutic, thanks for posting!
Was that captured on a glidecam? So smooth. Loved the video and thanks so much for sharing. Definitely gave me goosebumps.
I know most of us think thursday night entrances or games against miami has the best environment but one of the best entrances I've witnessed was the Nebraska game in 2009. Yes the Miami game the week after was also amazingly loud but there's something about the Nebraska entrance that is entrenched in my memory. Maybe it was those red fans all filled up their section while we were still taking our time to our seats with about 6 min before kickoff. And boy were they loud. Especially doing their cheer. I was worried that we would get shown up. But then the "LETS GOO... HOKIESSS" started and it was the loudest and most together I had ever heard (Usually when you're stuck up high on the east stands, the southwest side corner lags in yelling the "Lets Go"). And then Enter Sandman came on and the sea of red fans were literally shell shocked and didn't make much of a noise after.
It's weird, I hate that we suck and I'm not gonna deny that, but I'm not that pissed off that we got killed on Thursday. I live in Wyoming now, I graduated in May, and just being in Blacksburg, seeing my friends, and being in Lane Stadium meant more to me. Hearing Enter Sandman just feels too good, it feels like I'm where I belong. I can be in Wyoming, but if I hear Enter Sandman on the radio I feel like I'm near my friends and family for those 5 minutes. I'm not gonna lie, I cried a little bit during my drive out of Blacksburg on Friday knowing that it's gonna be my last time there until next Labor Day. They say home is where your heart is, my heart will always be in Blacksburg, and Enter Sandman is a part of that.
Wish I could throw 100 legs at this. Very well said.
Kirk Fowler, Chris Herbstreit, Reece Pollack, David Palmer, Jesse Davis... they are all a bunch of blowhards that just suck up to the sec. The only good things about espn broadcasts are watching Samantha Ponder on mute and listening to Corso show up for College Gameday still drunk from the night before and dropping the F-bomb.
Wow. Fowler was right about Hokie fans being unnecessarily hypersensitive.
No he wasn't.
Nope, it's that some whining know it all that gets paid an Exorbitant sum to sit in a booth and bitch can suck it when he whines about us doing something right.
Aaaand... your two comments on here just proved Chris Fowler was right in his response to the reaction over his joke. Hypersensitive, indeed. Fans that are comfortable and secure in their support of their team don't freak if a single media person makes a comment that is not glowing adulation of their team.
So Fowler made a joke. Now he's 'condemned' alongside Herbstreit & all the others who made ONE less than positive statement about Hokies at any time in the last two decades. Now the paranoid in the fan base will scan every comment of his looking for reasons to whine. Even more than they've already whined about this comment.
Fowler did not 'fault' in his joke. The only impression of that was by the insecure. Are we collectively really that weak that we desperately lunge for a reason to be insulted? If so, that's pathetic. I think we're better than that. Although, the overwhelming majority of posts on here proved the opposite. People need to get a grip. They fawn over Fowler when he complements us, then curse him when he makes a joke at our expense. Pretty sad, indeed...
I dunno...Fowler makes a joke, now we are joking on him.
That's just how it's played in my world.
My reference is to that one comment.
He makes one disparaging comment and I comment on that so, your point is disproved. It doesn't cast him into the pit of hell for all eternity but "joke" on me and expect me to "joke" back. Anything else is an unrealistic expectation.
Your comment was designed to provoke and it did just that. I'll not hold your "joke" against you either.
Have a good day.
Oh, you made it pretty clear how you felt when you posted. Spinning it now? As I said earlier, the responses quickly proved the level of hypersensitivity. Enjoy it.
Again, your comment was designed to provoke.
Your most recent response more so.
You can say it to my face or suck it up, troll.
You are
a provoking little girl, hiding in your anonymity.I can respond to a troll on ESPN and express my dislike for the comment.
You can troll anonymously
, tiny little minded person you are..This kind of comment is not appropriate. I realize there's a bit of tension between several people in this sub-thread, but flaming and name-calling are expressly against the Community Guidelines. I know that you're a solid member of this community Egbert, so I hope you reconsider this comment.
Not sorry, I think he's calling out and trolling me.
I calls 'em as I sees 'em.
Nothing pisses me off more than an anonymous troll.
I'll certainly understand the negative legs from you but, he's a troll. Straight up.
His post was designed to provoke, nothing more, nothing less.
Ted Bishop???? Is that you???
It wasn't a funny joke. So yes he did.
Fowler made a comment. Far too many Hokie fans are taking it far too seriously. If that can't be admitted, then his reaction to the whining by some Hokie fans afterwards proves true. By the reaction on here, he's being proven correct. With all of the issues facing our football team, to decide to bemoan a comment by a media member as an insult to us is really, really weak. Deny it or not, it's weak. Downvote or not, it's weak. We've got bigger things to worry about than one comment by one media person. But hey, it's a convenient diversion...

Again, you are wrong. The joke was not funny.
Lets be honest... it wasn't funny to us.
If he said something like that about LOLUVa, there would be a 100+ comment thread with 60% of the comments in green praising how hilarious and awesome the message was, much like how the Colin Cowherd rant has become gospel throughout the fanbase.
Sometimes it just sucks to be the butt of the joke.
I agree that some of the reactions are taking it to another level. But your reactions to the reactions are getting just as far out there, to my untrained eye. This could go round and round all day.

Fowler talks smack. We talk smack.
And this is football.
Agree with you SWVadon. Fowler made a comment. Not a big deal. His idea is just a variation of people not buying tickets for games. The reason you don't buy tickets? Because the team isn't putting a good product on the field. Do I agree that VT has lost "home dominance?" Yes. Do I think Enter Sandman should be stopped? No. No need to get butt hurt.
If that was what he was thinking, then probably better to have made that comment after a game that wasn't sold out
Regardless of how people reacted, it was a pretty unnecessary shot at a team and fanbase's tradition while they were down.
You say hypersensitive (negative/demeaning connotation); I say hyperpassionate.
I dont think a single person here would disagree that this passion for our school and our teams (yeah, im already starting to lean on bball season for some good vibes) is what makes us true Hokies. "Hokie" was a spirit word made up in 1896 and, dammit, thats why when you're asked what a Hokie is, you say "I am". As a living embodiment of that, I/we support this school/team through thick and thin and defend them (especially against a dumbass comment made by Chris Fowler (who I couldnt give two s***s about, otherwise, btw)).
Chris a fowler should eat a heaping bunch of Shut the Fock up Sandwich until some other fan base can outdo our entrance for real AND SECPN stops sucking the (
insert appropriate female genetalia slang name here.)He's a know nothing talking head using our misfortune for his own gain.
Ok, and since OSU lost to us, they should probably stop scripting Ohio for a little while.
Not sure I will give that one to you. A better example: Clemson shouldn't run down the hill anymore.
My first game at OSU, the players running on to the field was a huge let down compared to Lane. I regretted leaving VT at that moment.
I say we shelve Chris Fowler!
Enh I hear what he's saying and think people are taking this a little too seriously/literally.
This is less a comment on whether or not we should stop doing enter sandman and more a comment on the lows this program had been allowed to stoop to over the last 4 years...
Off topic, but I'm totally geeking out about making my keyplay debut in that intro video
That message by Marty Smith almost brought me to tears, standing beside my dad at the game. Win or lose those are the memories I have.
Even though we sucked it up I got to hang with him and a h.s. friend the whole time. Well worth the time and money spent.
Man it sucks losing to Miami... at least UVA lost today.
Agreed, the speech and accompanying video were terrific, everything about that day was terrific for me. Except the game of course haha.
Of course he's an a-hole. He supports Chelsea.
First: Wow, wow, wow on that video. Thanks so much for that.
Second: You guys that were responsible for that show - the fans, the band, the cheerleaders, the planners, etc....what a recruiting tool you are! Be rightfully proud.
Wins will come, losses will come, but I have to believe that kind of welcome means even more to the players when they are not on top of the football world.
Third: That was the first time I enjoyed something I heard from Jesse Palmer's suit:
"I didn't hear a word you just said...and...This is one of the greatest things in college football" (paraphrasing).
Yeah, we're gonna go ahead and change that. Right. I hope that tradition lasts as long as the game of football at VT.
Nailed It! Thanks Coach!!
First off, great job on the video. I honestly am very happy with Lane and the experience Whit has created. Thursday was my first game at Lane this year and I had read all about the "new experience" on TKP, some people not liking, others liking it. I must say, I loved it. The music during stoppages was mostly "House" (techno for the old folk), and you could tell it kept all the students engaged. The fan cam, hair styles, name that tune all kept everyone upbeat. Although the product on the field has been terrible, it does make me happy to see Lane have a more modern and upbeat experience catering to the students that attend the university. I look forward to coming back this Saturday.
Fowler is far and away my favorite person at ESPN. He has (almost) always been supportive of Virginia Tech on air, in his writing, and in interviews. His piece on April 16th (posted above) comes to mind. Also, see his interview in the ESPN "those guys have all the fun" book. I'll forgive him for this 'joke'.
I don't think it was posted as a joke. After a few hours of being blasted by fans of all types, not just Hokies, I think he had an "oh shit, I screwed up" moment and said it was a joke. Why?
After he made the original post, he tweeted this back at someone:
"@ChltNCHokie @southern_hokie "ratings drama?" huh? i"m semi serious. Love the song. But that run out used to mean something."
That shows that his post was never intended to be a joke. He then made this post:
"and BTW, my Hokie fan followers are way touchy amidst the frustration. Enter Sandman ban was a joke, folks. Lost your sense of humor?"
I was hurt because Fowler's piece on April 16 had a huge impact on my life. A few friends and I talked with him in an airport on our way to the LSU game the following fall and he seemed to genuinely care about Virginia Tech - the students and the school.
Shame on Chris for calling this a joke when he damn well knew he screwed up. Most any other sportscaster could have said those same words and, sure we would've been pissed, but not hurt. We all thought Fowler had a connection with us, with all Hokies. I did, anyway. I was wrong.
The way to stop jokes/potshots/opposing fans making fun of you: start winning football games
Chris Fowler can go fuck himself. Yeah I said it!
Anyone who would confuse our offense with that of WVU needs glasses.
Chris Fowler probably wears jorts
with suspenders...
I like Fowler and he likes Tech. No debate there.
That being said, I would have respected the "joke" more if he hadn't been joking.
BOOOOOO! That would punish the fans more than motivate the team.
Probably the thing that sucks the most about this whole situation is that after watching the above videos, and a little bit of the replay that was on TV this afternoon, all I could think was, "Man, we look good on TV."
If only our play on the field had lived up to the sexy uniforms/stadium.
I'm just like... Whatever.
I just wanna watch football. Chris Fowler was eloquent right after the shootings. I'll never forget that. I'm just going to take his recent comments as maybe a little disappointment at the Hokies poor showing at home on Thursday night. He's always given the impression as a big fan of the Lane Stadium experience. So... I'm cool.
A commentator is the least of our concerns. We need to get our toughness back. I see what happened to Texas as very similar to what's happening to us. Complacency. Maybe, hopefully, fowler's words will put a chip back in our shoulder.
Maybe the intro, or the lunch pail or something needs to be taken away so it can be earned back.
As I said in the other thread, I don't think this is an unreasonable suggestion. Fowler isn't normally one to wear the inflammatory journalist hat.
the thing i think that pissed me off the most about this is i have NEVER ever heard anyone say anything even semi close about any other team shelving a tradition that they do because of some down years or whatever. that dumb ibis still does the little C-A-N-E-S thing and they still run out of the smoke, FSU still tomohawk chopped when they were down clemson still touched the rock when they were barely a 500 team the gators still do the chomp and all their traditions. this is part of VT football win, lose, whatever. i think its complete BS to even suggest it shouldnt be a part of the game day exeperience anymore until the crowd and fans are no longer enjoying it.
Only thing I can think of is Gary Barnett stripping the Colorado logos off the team's helmets in the 2000 season because he didn't think their performance was worthy of being representative of the school anymore.
It is impossible to make apt comparisons, but I think that it is interesting to note that the vaunted Nebraska blackshirt tradition has been suspended a few times in its history when players and/or coaches felt that they were not upholding the honor.
For those that don't know, in a nutshell, blackshirts (jerseys) are given to the starting defensive players at Nebraska to wear during practice (instituted in the 1960's). The jerseys are sometimes switched out as often as day to day, but only 11 are allowed to wear the black jersey (maybe 12 if the punter is thrown in for sticking someone on a return). It makes for highly competitive practice, as everyone is vying to become one of the elite.
And when that tradition gets suspended, it certainly is a cause for great reflection for everyone. Its a huge deal, to say the least.
I don't know if "suspending" Enter Sandman until we right the ship is right or wrong. Like the trophy case, the implications are enormous, and it would have to be thoroughly thought out. Still, if that choice was taken, and the day finally came when the team earned that Enter Sandman entrance once again...I'm not sure "epic" would come close to describing it. Just food for thought.
Suspending Enter Sandman is a rebuke to the fans, as if the fans were at fault for not keeping up their end of the bargain. I don't see that as having occurred.
Need to motivate the team, not the fan base.
I'm less concerned with a Twitter joke like this than I was with the (justifiable) mocking of our team the guys were doing in the booth on Thursday night in what was supposed to be our showcase game. That being said, I really couldn't even get angry with what the guys were saying, because we were just that damn bad that we deserved to be mocked.
It's my team to mock, not theirs.
It's their job to present the game.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug.....
Right at the end of the 2nd video, when Palmer and Pollack are standing in the endzone, Palmer says "Just standing here, you can see why this is one of the best environments in all of college football."
I am not going to worry about what any announcer says....if we start playing like we can, then it will all take care of itself and we won't have to worry about stuff like this.
Thats the thing, I can't get too mad at what Fowler said because its coming off as if these guys are as frustrated the team stinks as we are. The fans were jacked up and excited and the place was rocking, and the team didn't show up. Its not the first time that Lane has been amped up for a night game (2005 Miami) and the team forgot to show up.
I almost took what Fowler had to say as a "this team does not deserve the atmosphere the people in the stands provide them".
I agree with this statement. Maybe they're just as disappointed in our performance as us. Now, it's probably based on ratings or lack thereof or it could be they're genuinely fans of the school. If you think about every Thursday night game we've played in Fowler and Palmer has called almost all of them, I think it goes against human nature not to gain some respect after being around a team all those years.
They have certainly called most of the Thursday night games nowadays, but going back about 8 years ago, it was Tirico, Herbstreit, and Corso in the booth for Thursday night games, which is one of the big reasons the GameDay guys love us as well (the other HUGE reason is that the 1999 GameDays in Blacksburg really kicked off the event that is is, because we made an effort to bring out a crowd for really the first time in their broadcast history, and the producers loved it so much they made it a staple of the show) and is one of the big reasons they are critical of us sometimes, because even they hate to see how lowly we've fallen.
Having your powers being good is great for the sport. Like it or not, we are an ACC power, and the conference (and in return for their own ratings, ESPN as well) needs us to be good at football, and they'll get frustrated when we're not. They'll kick you while you're down because they're just as frustrated as we are, but the return is that when you're playing well, they'll go out of their way to sing your praises.
I'd much rather them be taking jabs at us than ignoring us altogether. Nobody cared when Virginia sucked the last 10 years, because they're a program that doesn't matter. People care that we are struggling, and that in and of itself means something.
I've been logged out of TKP and trying (unsuccessfully) to stay away from Twitter since the game, because I have been afraid I would say something I would regret. I did, in fact, post one thing that I regret, and it was a reply to Chris Fowler.
Reading this thread today, when the heat of the moment has passed, is instructive. The first two-thirds of the comments were almost unanimous in their anger or hatred or whatever toward Fowler or his tweet or both.
The last third are much closer to what I felt when I saw his tweet. He's right. He's absolutely right.
The "Enter Sandman" entrance is designed to be intimidating, to show the visiting team that they are in a dangerous place, to mess with their heads, and possibly to affect their play on the field. It's embarrassing to me, as a fan, to make all that noise like I think this team is worth cheering for, only to have the visiting team humiliate them, and me.
I will be in the stands on Saturday. I will cheer. I will not boo under any circumstances. But I agree with Chris Fowler, for the same reason I agreed with removing the "trophy case" and ditching the "mission accomplished" tee shirts. It's pretentious. It's posing. It's pretending we're something we're not. Maybe the change should not be made mid-season, but if this season ends with anything like the performance we've seen since tOSU we need to come out next year with a completely different mindset.
+1 on the flynt flossy gif.
I personally don't have a problem with what Fowler's main point is - the team hasn't been showing up at home. Our recent record at home proves his point. That crowd was absolutely JACKED UP for the game - too bad our team wasn't. I mean, what does it take to get these players engaged???
Even though many take his comments literally, I really think his point was spot on - our team needs to do a MUCH better job of defending Lane against power 5 teams. Period.
GO HOKIES!
I'm not sure if he is actually being serious or just poking fun at how bad VT has become at home. Regardless, Sandman and the entrance were the only thing enjoyable about Thursday night. I'll echo the sentiments that I'm really disappointed that the crowd's energy was wasted. It's tough to compare games over the years but the atmosphere felt every bit as electric as the 2003 night game against Miami.
I also really enjoyed Marty Smith addressing the crowd before the game and thought that gave things another kick as well since he was visibly and vocally jacked up.
There was atmosphere on Thursday, but it wasn't 2003 levels. 2003, I couldn't hear myself think during pregame.
Now, I will say that most of my vocal issues since Thursday night are a direct result of Sandman, not so much the actual game.
I respectfully disagree. 03 Miami was a packed house where the roars created vibrations in my bones.
The video of the entrance on Thursday doesn't even show a full crowd, wit bald patches in the upper areas. It was loud, but lets leave 03 on its own level.
I did get a kick out of the crowd mock cheering the blocked extra point. They had the right to do so.
Mark and Bill, thanks for capturing those. I was late tuning into the broadcast and missed the entrance so I'm glad I was able to catch it.
Mark, that field level perspective was amazing. I'm proud to see that the fans brought it.
Can't say we have a good comeback. This is probably the lowest point in the program in a least the last 15 years.
Our D is on the field for 90% of the game and is getting burned on all fronts, our offense has had entire halves where we have had more penalties than first downs.
And there are some bright spots with freshman skill players, but is it enough to keep up.
It was a joke and I can understand it. Maybe dump Enter Sandman and replace it with Ball of Confusion by the Temps or a reference to CFB, TV Dinners by ZZ Top. What I do know as a fact;
Duke --6-1, 2-1
Georgia Tech -- 6-2, 3-2
North Carolina - 4-4, 2-2
Miami -- 5-3, 2-2
Pittsburgh -- 4-4, 2-2
Virginia -- 4-4, 2-2
Virginia Tech -- 4-4, 1-3
I know I said I was out of here but I am addicted to Va Tech and all the Hokies. Really...Duke?
Enter Sandman from SEZ
The stadium was rocking. I was disappointed at the results but stop Enter Sandman? What the heck is he thinking or smoking? Why would we stop cheering and supporting the team when they are struggling? We are not losers or fair weather fans. He should have some respect for what we did to help him get where he is now. He has been a beneficiary of Thursday nights in Blacksburg.
Is it encouraging or discouraging that the converstion is more about what is wrong with VT than "the U is back"?
Even if you are too old to jump anymore like me you can still enjoy Lane and Enter Sandman!
tell him to mind his own bizwack
