Sixty carries must be a Dork Magic number

It must be, 60 runs is certainly fully dipped in the running game.

We won the sugar bowl and Danny Coale made the catch ... otherwise a good read.

Great stuff Andy!

I wouldn't be surprised to find that W-L statistic to be the same for just about every pro-style offense that runs the ball that much.

Yards per carry is a bit misleading for this VT team. That's a stat that can get padded considerably by a handful of long runs. VT just doesn't have the kind of runners that are going to break many of those 40+ yrds runs that inflate yards per carry (especially now with McKenzie & Edmunds gone for the year), so the YPC is going to look low regardless of how effective the running game is.

If they can just consistently get into 3rd & 3 or less situations while using the running game 30-40+ times per game, they've got a pretty good chance of winning -- regardless of the actual YPC stat.

It certainly works for me in NCAA '13. My offense often looks like Auburn last year, and it often pisses off my opponent.

If the magic number is 50, then the evil sorcery number is 33. That was the number of carries in the ECU and GT games. If the Hokies have the ball on the goal line on 3rd and 30, and they're at 33 carries, I don't care if they have to give the ball to David Wang...run the ball. Gotta respect the Voo Doo.

Leonard. Duh.
