They do good stuff over there. Obviously I can't C&P their material, but it's definitely worth a look if any of you want to follow the link.

I'm really impressed by the data -- we were killing it on 3rd downs (9 of 17) and in the Red Zone (100%, all TDs).
Oh what a difference a year makes, in terms of healthy personnel, experience with Loeffler's system, on the execution of said system.
I'm struck by the comments at 11warriors where they (some, not all) think defending our TE's should be a simple matter of an adjustment here or there, or that Foster's D should have some simple counters to it.
I'm not going to say we are better fans, but I will say, thanks to TKP, we are better educated fans in terms of football IQ, and understanding the nuances in Foster's & Loeffler's systems that make them very difficult to counter if the personnel on the field are executing.

I thought the announcers made a great quote of how Bud made his adjustments--it's like trying to defend GA Tech and the triple option--just a different formation.
Agreed. I was just thinking how badly OSU's schedule set up to start this year.
Face a triple-option offense that their D needs to completely adjust for in week one.
Then in week two, face a Defensive scheme that very few others are using.
Just a double-whammy in one-off schemes that just can't be easy for a team with plenty of talent, but not a whole lot of experience, and missing their game-changer under center.
Bud's got a similar problem this year. We've got the elite athletes of OSU, followed by the spread of ECU, immediately followed by GT. I'm pretty worried about how we'll handle the pressure of being ranked combined with having a young defense being shown vastly different offensive schemes week after week. We're gonna find out real quick just how legit this team is.
The good thing it's that we are already familiar with the ECU and GT schemes.
And the OSU scheme was a good practice for the gap responsibilities and discipline needed for GT.
And I think GT is in bad shape this year. Less talent than ever. Hard to recruit great talent when kids have dreams of the NFL, and you are selling four years of college and a career in hotel management.
So while the VT players need to keep level heads, the last two weeks have shown we should definitely be favored in those games.
Talent and scheme don't concern me. I'm just worried that kids will get their heads stuck in the clouds. Any given Saturday...
Yeah, very few of them seem to appreciate the brilliance of Bud's game plan and calls, or even understand the scheme at all. This was not your run of the mill aggressive defense. Also, we pretty well dominated them up front. It would have required a very good game from their pass catchers and their WR/TE's were just not good enough to consistently beat a very, very good secondary.
As for the our offense, a lot of the time our pass catchers were just better than their back 7. Been a long time since we've been able to say that consistently. Malleck and Hodges beat decent coverage on several occasions.
ECU has a young offensive line, a great QB and a great receiver, he is only 5'11 and 198 so not a size mismatch for Fuller or Fayscon.
Defensively they struggle against the pass. I feel we'll try a more ground n pound approach. Brewer needs a clean uniform at the end of this one.
towards the end of the game USC-e started to run it more as well. They obviously don't have the d-line that OSU has so I think we'll be able to run it a lot better, especailly if we can pass as well as we have been. Hopefully the boys have had time to enjoy this win and are now back down to earth and ready to work on a team that is capable of winning football games. Time to get to work.
I feel like I saw a quote from somebody from OSU responding to a question about running on Foster's Defense that went something like, "It's damn near impossible." Maybe somebody can pull that out of an article but I think it speaks to your point that OSU was just a simple fix away from changing that game.
Sometimes you just get out-coached and out-played and I think, at least at times, that we did that on Saturday night. Really, OSU's offensive front could have known the defensive play coming at them and still been run over. Our D-line played that well at the end of the game.
It was their offensive coordinator. He said exactly that - "it's damn near impossible."
They say the OC's aversion to throwing to the middle of the field (short) is why they couldn't beat our scheme. Apparently he almost never throws short to the middle, and it could have made some difference. Oh, and fire all the coaches.
They tried a couple slants and crosses.
40 blocked one at the line.
They also tried a couple screens, they went nowhere, a yard or 2. Close CB cover by the best guys in the league will prevent that.
The Eleventh Warriors are still in a state of shock. They didnt see the beatdown coming.
