Wow! I knew we were good but not THAT good.

combine that with being the leader in sacks over the last several years and it's amazing how good the defense continues to be. please, offense, anything better than a bad offense will allow for great things for VT football.

No one should pass on DBU. Especially, top DB prospects.

If you play it, they will win.

Both of those GIFs are fantastic. The girl turning to her boyfriend (I assume) for help and getting laughed at is the best.

Damnit, 2010!

First thing I thought... "We were SO BAD in 2010, what the hell?"

To me, 2010 will forever be remembered as the year of the broken tackle. I just feel like every play, every game, our guys got there, but just couldn't wrap up and tackle.

That play Kyle made against Bama has to be best pass break up in the history of the game. I remember pausing when it happened thinking they were going to call PI. Then I saw the replay. Perfect!

That is an excellent point, however I still value the completion percentage more. Incomplete and intercepted passes get the defense of the field, whereas giving up 10 yards rather than 15 might be a sizable difference in the rankings, but not on the field.

Here at TKP

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Someone had to say it. ECU and GT alone warrant a rebuttal.

Right you are, sir. The inherent danger of man coverage a high percentage of plays. However, still 31st in opponent passing yards per game, which indicates that outside of coverage breakdowns for big plays, our opponents really weren't doing anything through the air.

Except for ECU.
And GT... when it really counted.

Leonard. Duh.

Yes, we know.

There are always exceptions to every rule.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

I'm so spoiled. I watch other college football games and I can't believe how horrible the coverage is.

DBU aint nothin to fuck with

Every second counts

It bothers me that seeing those two years above 50% bothers me.

I was thinking the same thing. My favorite time is checking "the outlier" for this stat when it comes to game time. Seeing a QB who is touted as a completion master with 64% completion or greater face us and only be able to complete 45-47% is something that makes me happy.

seems like this should be in this thread somewhere

Between this and Kyle's PBU further upthread... *hnnnnnnnnng*

I mean, this is legit defense, but even if Kendall doesn't bat the ball away the receiver lands out of bounds and it's incomplete anyway...just sayin'

see's an amazing athletic play - focuses on the receiver being out of bounds. I think you missed the point.

I didn't miss the point. I thought I made it clear that it was a legitimate play. BUUUUUUT...the receiver landed out of bounds...

It was a terrific effort by Kendall and I'm not trying to take anything away from him. But that specific play isn't even close to being one of the most important plays that Kendall has made in his career thus far...he's had some other really nice plays that were much more important to their respective games.

I get what you're saying. At the same time, I believe you'll agree that you're happier that KF11 made that play rather than just watching and hoping the ref makes the right call.

Fair point. We all know how reliable instant replay can be

I know... mostly my post was an excuse to post that video from Half Baked...

Devil's advocate, the receiver gave up on the play as he watched Kendall bat the ball away. If Kendall doesn't make that play, the receiver is in halfway decent position to attempt an acrobatic toe drag. Kendall denied him that opportunity.
