OT: Winston to Go Pro

Famous Jameis Crablegs are now going to be a part of the National Fooball League as of the end of April.

Full story can be found here on ESPN.com

NFL scouts graded Winston well, saying that his speed has improved since he was seen dashing out of a Publix last year. This will prove to be an asset for Jameis when he is forced to deal with top-tier NFL speed.

Kinda sucks that his dad broke the news as opposed to Jameis getting that chance.

You could say that his dad...

I guess he decided the story had legs

But isn't it spelled Publix?

Well played.

Does this move Florida St back enough next season that Clemson and Louisville are strong Atlantic contenders (or stronger, I should say)

I think so, given the way the team played this year and the talent that is leaving (they will also be losing Greene and O'Leary)

They are also losing Williams in the secondary as well as a de.

Well they weren't exactly beating the doors off of anyone this year, so I'd say yes the pack will catch up.

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

Not sure what the effect of losing Chad Morris will have on Clemson. Louisville is still living off of Charlie Strong's talent, but at the same time it may not be the talent the current staff designs for, so they could go either way.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

TBD how Clemson transitions to a post-Morris future. If they get the right OC they are very well perched with Venables finally clicking on defense. If they become the Atlantic equivalent of us, Louisville has a good shot.

"I liked you guys a lot better when everybody told you you were terrible." -Justin Fuente

They lose 8 starters on D, 3 of their top 4 DE's and 3 of their top 5 DT's. They also lose 6 starters on O (not counting Stoudt) including 3 OL and their TE. Not that they haven't recruited good talent, but that's a lot to lose, esp on D and in the trenches.

Don't give up on your dreams.

Looks like they are going with co-offensive coordinators. http://www.tigernet.com/story/football/Swinney-Names-Co-Offensive-Coordi...

Living here in Clemson territory, it's interesting to observe the fans' reactions to Morris' leaving. Many were glad to see him go. I've heard him blamed for everything from a) not playing Deshaun enough (injuries? Suck it up, kid), to b) playing Deshaun too much (wait! He's injured!), to c) recruiting QB's who are "too injury-prone" (Deshaun).

Go Pro?

Go Pro?

Hokies United l Ut Prosim

A GoPro on Winston off the field would be a new reality TV show called "What Could Possibly Go Skrong?"

There are a lot of jokes I could make about one of his transgressions but I'd rather not get the ban hammer.

This story is shooting around the interweb like an errant BB...

I am starting to think we'll never know what became of the butter he claims to have not swiped along with the crab legs.

He used it to grease his way out of a jail sentance

I hope he gets drafted by the Ravens. Would become "crab legs and football! its what Maryland do!"

If he gets drafted by the Ravens, Tyrod won't have a job anymore

No true, Tyrod will get traded to the Browns and take Johnny Bench's starting spot.

"Johnny Bench"

Haven't heard that before. You get a leg. That's funny.

Or that emu oil commercial he does? I didn't know people used the oil of an emu as a painkiller until I saw that commercial. The Big Red Machine was the shit back in their day though.

Tyrod is a free agent this year anyway. I doubt he comes back.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

I hope the Eagles sign him to take Sanchez's spot, I want to see him in Chip Kelly's offense so bad.

I'm here for the memes, I just stay for the football.

With Jameis and the whole name controversy thing, the 'skins might pass up the Yankees for most hated team in America. Close second would Jameis and the Raiders. Both of those combo's put a smile on my face.

Raiders got us a qb, take that Crableg Bootyhole evil elsewhere!

Get to the NFL before you get caught getting paid.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Hehe. He's gonna get his azz whooped.

No surprise , the fact that he was going to the pros was probably one of the worst kept secrets ever. Lot's of people were tired of the drama & defending the actions of this idiot.

Anyone else suspect that after the report came out that "Jameis Winston to announce NFL decision after Championship Game" someone told him FSU wasn't in the championship game and then suddenly he announces now?
