Adam Smith to Transfer from VT

According to the VT men's basketball account, Adam Smith will transfer and play elsewhere next year. Sad to see him leave, but it now opens up a scholly for Buzz this upcoming year.

I think it makes sense as he isn't needed as much now we have Seth Allen ready to go. Hopefully we can get another big man.

Slightly agree. He was our best offensive weapon, and although his defense was fairly shaky, he was the best bet to get us a bucket at any time in the game. Hard to replace that IMO.

Yeah he can shoot the 3 but thats really all he could do. We have plenty of bright talent that have a lot higher ceiling than Smith at the guard spot anyway so its nice to open a spot for a big

He also attacked the basket very well for his height. I am also excited for the potential of Seth Allen and others, but his immediate scoring threat will be dearly missed unless they hit a rhythm very early shooting the three. Would definitely take Seth Allen over him though.

Glad that he got his degree. He provided some good minutes for us and made some huge shots.

Wont be shocked to hear that after graduation he signed with some team in Spain or Israel or Turkey.
I wish him the best. He's a Hokie no matter where he ends up.

Nah, he will play in the NCAA tourney next year for some mid-major. Likely will win a game or two as well.

Thanks for all the sweet jumpshots Adam! I hope he finds success in his senior season. Given the recent run of tournament appearances by Tech transfers, he should do just fine.

So now hopefully we can sign another big man and keep Wilson and Mueller. I like this arrangement.
