Well, thanks to Time Warner, ESPNews, and the ACC Network (and the fact that there are no FBS teams in New York [/sarc]), I was able to see every single game this season on real live television.

Finally checked your bio -- because I really can't stand being confused; one of the unfortunate byproducts of being an engineer -- and voila -- it all became clear. This would be awesome! I would try to preserve some rivalries, play as many other land grant institutions as possible, and set up some for recruiting exposure against our biggest competition and in key areas. My list would go something like:

Ohio State
Texas A&M
I honestly don't care if we ever play WVU again. No recruiting advantage, a (mostly) horrible fan base, and not our fault you got stuck having to travel to Texas for games because, frankly, no one else wanted to be associated with you. UMD, Penn State, NC State, Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas A&M are all land grant schools with similar origins/missions to our own. I like trying to keep those schools playing as much as possible. GT has been a good rivalry, and recruiting exposure in Atlanta is good. Would love to see a regular rivalry form with Clemson. UNC definitely for recruiting purposes in Carolina. With games against teams from PA, MD, OH, NC, SC, GA, FL, and TX, recruiting exposure would be pretty outstanding in some of the best areas in the country. LOLUVa for in-state bragging rights and extending the win streak.

Notice the absence of North Carolina schools. I wouldn't care if we never played a school from NC again. I know we recruit and have many players from there but to tell you the truth I can never get excited for game against UNC, Duke, WF, NC State or ECU.

I'd just like to say, this is an awesome thread idea to cure the boredom of the offseason. Leg for you sir. Here we go:
James Madison - shut them up once and for all (no offense Jack Tyler, but it's on)
Ohio State - this one is pretty selfish. I have a lot of Buckeye friends who talked major smack before last year
Georgia Tech - I like the rivalry. I like the game. It's usually pretty intense
Miss St - could be a nice SEC win and could tarnish the SEC's "invincibility"
Richmond - need another in-state cupcake after last 3 slate of games
Miami - aside from #AME, I usually find this to be the most entertaining game of the season
Notre Dame - would be cool to see how we match up against someone like them
Oklahoma - the CFB version of UNC basketball: never play to their potential, yet still a great W if you can pull it off
Florida State - we usually match up decently with them, still a national powerhouse right now
Navy - I like the idea. Great school, decent football, nice fans

Just not WVU. Fuck them, that series deserves to be permanently dead and buried. Still pissed they're on the schedule in the future after the unsafe violent environment their fans have created against us in the past.

TENN - Regional dominance is only established at the annual Battle at Bristol
anOSU - great fans it seems like, plus it's a win - win situation for both teams, we beat them regular season they win the national championship
Penn St - this should already be a thing.
SoCar - Just like the idea of the two mascots fighting on the field
Georgia - Georgia is a good state to play in for recruiting and I prefer we keep our knees
FSU - at some point we need to pay them back for the national championship
ODU - Play in the 757 every other year. natch
LSU - settle the DBU debate once and for all
Duke - Hate them but respect the hell out of Cutcliffe, plus we need to play someone in NC.

1) UVA: Keep the rivalry going and add a cupcake team to help out the W-L line.
2) Texas A&M: The only two schools with an active corps of cadets...it'd be a lot of fun to do this game for our "military appreciation" game that we seem to have every year.
3) Miami: Arguably our biggest rival in the ACC besides UVA
4) Tennessee: A game that a lot of people want to have, rotate between Lane, Neyland and Bristol every year
5) Georgia Tech: Love the "Techmo" bowl, love Atlanta and love the battle for engineering supremacy every year.
6) Penn State: I believe the colleges are only 5 hours apart and PA has become a strong place for us to recruit from.
7) WVU: Only if we never have to play in Morgantown, fuck Morgantown
8) Clemson: Clemson, SC is awesome, I'm perpetually upset we don't play them more often
9) Old Dominion: Our "cupcake" game at the beginning of the season, helps out w/ 757 recruting
10-12) USC/Notre Dame/Michigan: Just a couple schools that are awesome from a football standpoint and would be fun to watch them play over and over again
