Also in the Class is 2 time Winston Cup Champion Terry Labonte.
And on a more local note for those not following. Denny Hamlin, driver of the #11 Joe Gibbs FedEx Toyota won his first Sprint All Star Race last Saturday.
He is a big Hokie fan, and his Crew Chief Darian Grubb is an alum. He also remains the only full time driver who lives in Virginia, and an active cocaine enthusiast based on his interviews.
I wonder if Denny and Marty Smith hang out and watch Tech games together.
I hope so. Just chill out in the his camper at the track, though I doubt many other drivers a bif CFB fans, Ryan Newman I guess.
Also is there video anywhere of when Denny visited practice and he and Beamer gave each other uniforms?
I remember there being a shot of him standing next to Logan and just looking like a child.
This is also a slightly related story I found a week or so back.

Boise State is actually sponsoring a K&N West Series Car and in return the Sophomore student driving it also gets a free ride at the school. She seems ok, and looks like her talent has been held back by crappy equipment which the money should fix. Finished top 1/3rd in the first event, then crashed qualifying and missed the 2nd even so far this year.
I started rooting for Denny after Dale Jr went to Hendrick (can't root for Hendrick driver) and I saw that he had talent and was going to be a contender. He also went to Chesterfield HS with a bunch of my friends from Tech. I didn't know he was a big Tech fan. I'm stoked now!
Also, that cocaine comment was unnecessary. You don't know that.
Actually, Darian is the Crew Chief for Carl Edwards. Left the FedEx team last year.
New CC for #11 is Dave Rogers.
Well TIL, I like Carl, but he was the last non Penske driver of any real strength in a Ford so him leaving hurt.
