Boston College coach Steve Addazio announced early last night that redshirt freshman Troy Flutie will start at quarterback. Flutie will be under center in place of freshman Jeff Smith, who suffered a concussion with 2:55 to play in the third quarter at Louisville.
Addazio worked out Flutie and walk-on freshman John Fadule with the first offense during the week. Fadule is the Eagles' scout quarterback but has never taken a snap in a game. Flutie will be staring his fourth game this season and has completed 24-of-47 passes for 382 yards and three touchdowns.
