Bust out your Sunday pitchforks folks. This sign was spotted last night
edit: uploaded screen shot since not everyone could see facebook link
Unless they had plans to give them all diarrhea, I'm pretty upset about this

WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS THIS!
Traitorous. That's what
Or just being good hosts. Should be no animosity from our fans towards them. No reason for it really.
They're a business. The OSU fan base travels well, so hospitality makes sense. Non-issue.
Sure... hospitality is nice and I definitely agree with being gracious hosts.
But you can be gracious and welcoming hosts without ostracizing the locals. I saw this walking through downtown today and have zero desire to go in there. And I'll remember this down the line and probably won't stop by when I come again in the future. If you're willing to go that all out with your public support of a visiting fan base and are putting their experience as the top priority than I'll take my business elsewhere. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will come away from this weekend with the same feelings.
And that's the power of capitalism. Time will tell whether this was a net positive for Poor Billy's. As long as they don't start welcoming "the reigning ACC Coastal Champions Georgia Tech," then this will all fade away in no time.
Can't see the first image, what is it a picture of?
Poor Billy's seafood with a small banner "poor Billy's welcomes 2014 national champions Ohio state"
edited post with picture everyone can see, sorry about that
Thanks, and I agree trying to get some business and soften the mood so we aren't going to kill each other in the stands. Never really ate at Poor Billy's anyways as a student, Mike's Burgers is where it is at!
If I knew how to link a post on here I would.
Drink.

I will concede that I exaggerated my feelings for the sake of the post. I do like that we are in general a very gracious fan base. However, rolling out a banner welcoming them feels super wrong right before our game with them. Our nationally televised, much talked about, much scrutinized game with them.
It isn't as bad as if they had a UVA banner up, but it's up there
Couldn't it have left out the National Champs part?
yes, it reads obsequious.
My thoughts exactly.
Sigh.
i think the sign would have been better if it just welcomed the Buckeyes in general to Blacksburg...unless it's a marketing ploy to get them over to Poor Billy's/Big Al's over the other bars
For sure a marketing ploy, but I feel like they are going to make some of their usual customers upset for the possibility of making a fast buck for this game
Sure, he can talk to himself on the plane but when I do it they have to make an "emergency landing" because I am "scaring the other passengers". Pffft
I can see it as a Welcome Buckeyes thing, a celebration of the fact that we are playing the #1 team on our home field and draw in the visitors for a drink and a slab of carp.
carp from the Duck Pond?
I'll let me slide, ONLY if they show last year's game on a loop!
Am I dreaming this, did you not type this at some point in the last few days to me posting this same story? Maybe I'm going nuts.
I did. You haven't been Blacksburg'd, yet. (Btw, that's where the $5 pitchers just start flowing so easily because that's typically the price of 1 pint that it just continues and continues.)
it's deja vu all over again, huh?
Meh
They could have thrown a subtle jab in there and I would be fine with it. I would have liked to see them post the record from last year with a highlighted number 1.
