The worst part isn't losing to OSU. There is no shame in losing to a team that good, especially when you can point to a moment when the door was closed. We were neck and neck with the best team in college football for 2+ quarters. After coming back from a 14 point deficit to score 17 unanswered, we belonged. It was a great feeling.
The worst part is that sense of stolen opportunity. Brewer wasn't the Brewer of last year. He wasn't the high risk, high reward gunslinger. He was better. He'd completed over 68% of his passes and was averaging just shy of 10 YPA. Against a damn good defense. And with 0 turnovers. He looked like the QB we all hoped he would turn into.
If we had had that all season, who knows what might have happened. It could have been a very good year. And that's what's been stolen. Now we don't even know who the starter will be.
This one hurts. And there's no one to blame.
