Done, though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't trying to grab peoples attention by leaving the sport out

This is fantastic. Wrestling and women's soccer are in a race to see which will be the first program to bring a national championship to VT. Excellent news.

But... wait a second, I thought we couldn't recruit well because of resources and our remote location /s

Glad to hear it! This is a program on a mission, and would not be surprised if it ends up delivering us a Natty in the next decade or so.

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

I know there's sarcasm there, but there really are a whole lot of differences between wrestling and football recruiting. Given the limited financial opportunities post college, it's actually arguably much easier to get a kid to go to a school/program that will actually be a good fit for him instead of following the flashy distractions that often accompany high-profile football recruits.

*steps off soapbox*

Oh, and we've also already got the #18 kid in the country. So that's pretty cool.

Another huge advantage Hokie wrestling has recruiting-wise that football doesn't is that we have Olympic caliber wrestlers/regional training center nearby. Definitely great to see dresser reloading.

Awesome! Welcome to Hokie Nation Brent!
