Apparenlty louisvilles president resigned due to the prostitute scandal with the basketball team. Pretty big news seeing as the president has been huge in getting the athletic department where it is too

I hope we don't have a problem with a Hooker in our program.

Please pay me $660,000 to resign and then continue with seat on a foundation for $300,000 more every year !
Please punish me like that.
Wait the school president resigns but the basketball coach(s), AD and anyone else in the atheltic dept stays?
...because they didn't know anything about it /s
...and we are to believe that? Really? Come 'on man!

priorities, man
Watch it now, the school president didn't win a national championship. What do you expect from a university that hired a fb coach back after he was let go at Arkansas for what he did?
50% off Papa Johns code LOLUofL
Well done.

What a waste of money for Pitino, he only got about 10 seconds of his 30 minutes anyway.
Did he study at the Mike London School of Time Management?
I guess not everyone remembers this testimony?

We need to go after their recruits! I bet most of those players only signed to play for the president.
No, a great many of their players were kicked off other teams coached by a coach who was also fired by Arkansas, but who is really good at X's and O's.
They should be called second chance U.
The hooker scandal was a very small part on why Ramsey was fired. It was mostly because of the ongoing investigations by the FBI about university executives misusing federal funds. In addition to that the university has forced a couple officials to retire early, giving them extra money to keep quiet about sensitive university info. Also the university has paid their top lawyer double her salary to leave her position and not sue them. The whole thing is sketchy.
On top of all the investigations, President Ramsey's Total Compensation has been a public point of interest here in KY. The university pays him upwards of $600,000 for being president. But he is also head of the UofL foundation which paid him $3.3 million in 2012, $1.9 million in 2013, and $2.8 million in 2014. These incredible payouts are significantly more than the previous UofL foundation heads have made. Ramsey's total compensation is also more than DOUBLE that of other ACC institutions such as Duke, UNC, VT, UVA which have higher academic profiles than UofL.
The whole thing is a scam in my opinion. Ramsey will still be head of the UofL foundation which is his real cash cow. He will continue to get those exorbitant payouts unless further changes are made. The foundation is the organization in charge of the financials of the University, which makes it a very powerful position he remains in.
Wow. Just wow. That's all I can say.
The administration at UofL is a mess right now and it is truly incredible once you start looking into the details.
Leg for your research and analysis...not for the scumbag president :)
I believe there was something about the Governor dissolving the Board of Directors in order to force Ramsey to resign too. A lot is going on over there
That is correct. The newly elected Governor Bevin ordered the old Board of Trustees to be dissolved and that Ramsey resign immediately from the university presidency. Two weeks and a couple absurd board meetings later the newly appointed Board finally accepted Ramsey's resignation.
The crazy part is that the KY courts are currently deciding whether Gov. Bevin's order to totally replace the UofL Board of Trustees was legal or not. If they decide his order was illegal then the old board will probably be reinstated. The good news is that the old board was probably going to kick Ramsey out anyway, maybe taking a little longer to do it, though. Pretty much the whole situation is a mess.
Fun Fact: Governor Bevin has declared that he will continue to grow his beard out until he is "no longer being sued by people in state government."
Another Fun Fact: John Schnatter, the founder of Papa John's Pizza, Mr. Papa John himself, is on the newly appointed UofL Board of Trustees!
