What the heck is this crap?!?!

Uhhhh...
No disrespect to the kids, but... no. That logo does not go with those colors or wordmark. Ultimate sacrilege. And they're from Vinton, no less!

so, by retiring the logo, did Tech relinquish the rights to its use? What's next, the Virginia
fighting gobblersangry peacocks? They are just kids beisbol uniforms man, no need to get all bent out of shape
I know its just youth baseball, but seeing a merge of VT and LOLUVa design elements just...
oh god....
I'd be willing to bet the coaches are all huge Wahoo fans.
I don't see anything to worry about.
Orange and Blue....Orange and Blue....Orange and Blue...

I saw one of those kids at El Gran Rodeo in Christiansburg several months back. I was really confused.
But, it's just youth baseball. Those type of teams swipe logos and colors all the time. I'm pretty sure since they aren't making any money off of apparel they're in the clear, but I could be wrong. But is VT really going to go after a youth baseball team for copyright violations. That would look bad.
I think you mean trademark violation, not copyright. But, there's no trademark infringement anyways. No way anyone would think that was an official VT logo.
Death, plague, Armageddon, cats sleeping with dogs, the end of civilization as we know it. Alum07 is correct: There is no conceivable excuse for this unpardonable breach of ... of.... of... taste.
Maybe they are just trying to combine elements as a nod to the two major schools in Virginia. Our old logo and UVa's color scheme. They are "Team Virginia" after all so appropriating the TV logo makes sense. Would it be better if they used UVa's logo with our orange and maroon. They could have just ignored us altogether and used UVA's logo.
Unfortunately, UVa's baseball program is far ahead of ours (for now) so I do not begrudge them patterning their youth team after them. If it was youth football, then I would be more concerned.
I'm with you on this one. No reason to hate on a youth baseball organization that is advertising for both UVA and VT. The positives outweigh the negatives, even if it is VT logo on the with UVA colors and UVA jersey.
At least the T is on top, where it belongs!
Technically speaking.
*Polytechnically speaking
Can't find a pic or anything of it, but in the early 90's there was a bumper sticker...
Virginia Tech. THE University, TECHnically speaking.
Kind of went hand in hand with the...
Women at the Citadel?!
What's next, men at UVA?!
My friend has a copy of the woman in the VMI uniform that was a VERY brief fund raiser.
Hey... I polytech.
NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so..."VinTon?"
"Team Virginia Baseball, formerly known as the VA Cavaliers, is based out of Roanoke, VA, and has been a well-established travel baseball organization for over 13 years."
From the website linked in the OP. I don't think this settles anything, their sponsors are from Roanoke to Rocky Mount, no mention of Charlottesville. They've also won a "state championship" in North Carolina, which is in keeping with the VT connection.
