Frank Beamer Is Still Reading Books to Kids

WRIC tracked down Frank Beamer and what's keeping him busy during retirement. To no one's surprise, Beamer's allocating some of his time to enrich the local Blacksburg community.

And it's subjective, but Frank's appearance, complexion and demeanor seems much better than I remember during the season.

Frank's appearance, complexion and demeanor seems much better than I remember during the season.

The Big Bad Wolf, he will really get after ya.

Danny Coale is like 7-11, he's always open

And to think, some say Beamer doesn't care about recruiting.

his mother would be so proud (as we all are, too)

Still being a coach - life coach. If you listen to his quote "get back to the fundamentals and read"

I told him I’d crawl on my hands and knees to be the DL coach at Virginia Tech. Now, all of a sudden, I’m sitting in this chair and I told him I’d still crawl on my hands and knees to work here. I just want to be here.

Man I love the fact that he is going to be the grandpa for all our future players. He is shaping up to be the cool gramps with all the cool stories of yesteryears!
